Partnerships are critical to helping create a #WaterPositiveFuture. 💧 Through collaboration with on-the-ground partners like Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), River Partners, National Audubon Society, Colorado River Indian Tribes Tribal Headquarters and others who have a deep knowledge of local challenges, communities, and landscapes in water-stressed areas, we're supporting solutions through local water restoration projects that improve, better manage or protect freshwater resources. As part of our strategy to help build a water positive future, we’re working to restore more water than is consumed at P&G manufacturing sites located in 18 water-stressed areas; and, restore more water than is consumed when using P&G products in the high water-stressed metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and Mexico City. Nature-based solutions, like treatment wetlands, are a key part of our vision for the future. With a growing population, our sewer networks are having to process increasing amounts of human and domestic waste, so we’re always looking for more natural alternatives. As seen in this BBC article, the power of wetlands is not to be underestimated. In addition to helping naturally remove unwanted chemicals, they also have a positive impact on our region’s river health and biodiversity. Our work with NORFOLK RIVERS TRUST on the #Stiffkey and #Ingoldisthorpe wetlands has demonstrated the true benefit partnership working can have on environmental quality. These wetlands are only the start. If approved by Ofwat later this week, our proposed business plan for 2025-2030, proposes a record investment of £4 billion to enhance the environment. This includes an ambitious goal of building nature-based solutions the equivalent of football pitches.
