Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind: Ever wondered what it takes to change a nation's laws about animal testing? In my world, it's a mix of relentless passion, strategic planning, and believing that small teams can create massive shifts. 2024 was the year we proved that in Chile. After years of work with Te Protejo, we didn't just advocate - we literally wrote the national law banning animal testing, set to be implemented in January 2025. "We wrote it, and it has been approved with our writing and wording." Not just a dream anymore, but actual policy. 💪🐰 This journey wasn't solo - it was about building incredible connections. From the Animal & Vegan Advocacy (AVA) Summit , CARE Conference, VBS summit and others to collaborations with more than 20 organizations, 2024 was about creating a network that transforms advocacy from local efforts to regional movements. "Love to connect, put myself out there, be authentic and honest" - that's been my approach to changing the world. 🫂 Professional highlights? Beyond the legislative victory: • Completed Fundraising Essentials certification with Anima International • Completed Funraising course of Red de Impacto LATAM • Recognized as one of the "50 Genias 2024" from GENIAS for sustainability work • Finally recieved my MBA degree in NGO Management & CSR from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences • Board Member in Fundación Veg and Generation Vegan. Looking ahead to 2025: Implementing Chile and Mexico's animal testing ban, expanding our network and working for bans in other countries and proving that passionate, strategic advocates can transform entire industries. "Animals are still being tortured in labs due to beauty cosmetics" - but not for long. To every activist out there: keep pushing, keep believing. Small actions create massive waves. 💖 Grateful to everyone who made this journey possible - ONG Te Protejo team and the incredible network of animal welfare advocates across Latin America. #LinkedInRewind #2024Wrapped #AnimalAdvocacy -- Get your 2024 LinkedIn Rewind! Did you know that Ratan Tata had a great fondness for dogs? When asked what his greatest luxury had been, Tata once said that it was making a swimming pool for his dogs. As a veterinarian who has for long admired Ratan Tata, I found myself thinking about him yesterday and felt that there is a lot we can learn from his entrepreneurial and philanthropic journey that resonate even in the world of veterinary practice. Here are five key takeaways for aspiring vets who aim to build a successful practice while making a meaningful difference: 1. Purposeful Giving: Ratan Tata's philanthropy emphasizes aligning giving with personal values. For vets, this could mean supporting animal shelters, wildlife conservation, or community outreach programs. It's about making a genuine impact, however big or small. 2. Empathy and Compassion: Tata's empathetic approach highlights understanding different walks of life. Vets can apply this by being compassionate towards pet owners, recognizing their emotional bond with their animals, and offering support beyond just medical treatment. 3. Long-Term Vision: Tata's visionary leadership transformed India's automobile industry. Vets can adopt this by focusing on sustainable practices, investing in advanced technology, and contributing to the long-term health and well-being of animals in their community. 4. Adaptability: Tata's receptiveness to new ideas fueled his success. Vets need to stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine, embrace new technologies, and adapt their practice to meet the evolving needs of their clients and patients. 5. Resilience: "Take the stones people throw at you and use them to build a monument." This quote exemplifies resilience. Vets often face challenges, but by learning from setbacks and criticism, they can build a stronger, more successful practice. By learning from his life, aspiring vets can create a thriving practice that not only serves their clients but also contributes positively to the veterinary profession and animal welfare as a whole. #RestInPeace #RatanTata #veterinarypractice

What an amazing 10 years since joining Merck Animal Health as the first person in the newly created Public Policy and Government Relations role. I’m so proud of what we’ve built and our talented team (the best!) over the past decade. Coming into this position, my goal was clear: to create a customer-focused, business-minded team passionate about advancing science-based policies that ultimately serve producers, veterinarians, pet owners and the animals in their care - and we’ve done just that. Throughout my career, I’ve had the unique opportunity to step into newly created roles, each time bringing an entrepreneurial and customer-service mindset, shaped by my upbringing as a 6th generation farmer marketing our food directly to consumers - before it was even cool! One of the driving forces behind my decision to join Merck Animal Health was the gap I saw as a cattle producer and while working at National Pork Producers Council in engagement from the Animal Health industry to actively support their customers and defend their products. We’ve made great strides to fill that gap, but there’s more work ahead. That’s why I continue to love my work #SuitsToBoots, enjoy the collaboration across our industry, and empower the passion and grit from our team at Merck. We’re here to make sure our customers have access to the best #innovation and technologies to make the right choices for the animals in their care based on #science. You don’t celebrate 10 years in a role without great support and guidance, and I’ve been fortunate to have some of the best. Big thanks to my team, colleagues, and the support of Richard DeLuca and Jenelle Krishnamoorthy. Here’s to the next 10 years! #AnimalHealth #Leadership #PublicPolicy #Inspiration

I've been inconsistent with my LinkedIn postings recently. Balancing LinkedIn with my 9-5 work at the clinic has been a challenge. I never thought I'd be this busy attending to my patients without engaging my LinkedIn community daily. Life happens, and that's okay. One thing I've learned is to avoid pressuring myself and strive for balance in everything I do; and striving to doing what works best for me. I don't need to beat myself up for not sharing educational content on animal care and productivity daily or maintaining a consistent engagement level. It's about prioritizing tasks and schedules. I've realized that I don't have to post content every single day. I can engage by commenting and sending DMs that resonate with your content. Lately, the algorithm has been discouraging, but I won't give up. My experiences and interactions with pet owners inspire ideas for valuable content. Why wait expectantly for my content daily when you can have a personalized consultation with me? Booking a free call allows us to discuss strategies, tips, and guides tailored to your animal's needs. Whether it's raising a healthy, active, and obedient furry friend or productive farm animals, I'm here to help. If you prefer DMs, we can have insightful discussions tailored to your animal's requirements. I look forward to connecting with you. Follow me, your favorite online Veterinary Doctor and Consultant, for more tips on animal health and productivity. #Saturdayvibes #animalcare #veterinarian #bvlc

I recently joined Boehringer Ingelheim as Head of Transactions Animal Health, allowing me to continue to enjoy the privilege I've had throughout my career of witnessing the impact of innovation from many different angles. At Boehringer Ingelheim, we have a long tradition of partnering with more than 250 collaborations ongoing in animal health. These partnerships are essential in helping us stay relevant for vets, farmers and pet owners by delivering the innovation they rely on to keep their animals – and society as a whole – healthy. For us, a partnership is not usually a one-off transaction but a relationship that will last for many years. I believe there are three key factors that need to come together for this to happen: 1. The relationship needs to be grounded in great science. We’re always excited to see the discovery of a new mode of action or a molecule to modify a disease. But there are other areas such as lead optimization, formulation, development, global registration, or commercialization, where the partner may lack the internal capabilities or financial resources to advance the project through to market. These are situations where we can help. 2. The partnership needs to make financial sense for both parties. We’re flexible when it comes to deal-making and are open to many different types of relationships. Most importantly, we want to create a deal that is right for the project and right for the partner. 3. We need to share similar values and culture. Our goal is to create partnerships that last and are truly collaborative. Relationships where our scientists are working side-by-side with our partners, tackling scientific challenges together and appreciating the expertise and diversity of thought that each party brings. I look forward to connecting current and future partners with our talented team of scientists. I’ll be attending many of the major partnering events this year, and plan to attend the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor Summit (https://lnkd.in/eTCVR5pQ) in August, so come along and say hello. You can also find all the events the team will be attending here (https://lnkd.in/eWii27tq). I look forward to seeing you!
