Here is a link to an article Coffee or Die Magazine wrote on the Battle of Shewan. It’s the biggest battle no one ever heard of. The Marine Corps awarded roughly 30 Navy Crosses during the Global War on Terrorism. 10% of those were earned in the town of Shewan in the summer of 2008. The Marine Corps also issued a significant amount of Silver Stars, impact Bronze Stars with V and other valor awards that summer. It’s worth reading about. https://lnkd.in/eZGUvYiN

I would like to republish this article, in a stand-alone format, from the recent [already published] edition of The Bursting Bomb (1-24) because it is unique, relative to the somewhat esoteric content of the Marine Gunner Association magazine. I hope that in its stand-alone form, this article might be seen by a wider audience, perhaps, than those who normally read our magazine...maybe even just the one person who really needs it right now. If you know a post 9-11 combat veteran who might benefit from a W&QW program, please let them know about this. The programs fill up fast (since they are amazing) so stay frosty. We will publish another W&QW focus piece in our next edition of The Bursting Bomb. The W&QW website can be accessed at: https://lnkd.in/gCGqYWn3
