UKREiiF setting out the challenges of existing housing stock which, according to the speakers, 40% is built pre-1942. Also, the planning hold ups preventing sustainability being executed at scale. #Manchester has said that they plan to deliver net zero, 18yrs before the rest of the country. The question remains that there is an identifiable skills and technology gap which will hamper the objectives towards net zero. #CalfordSeadon #contractmanagement #commercialmanagement #healthandsafety #principaldesigner #UKREiiF

In 2018, a group of leaders came together to imagine what could be possible when we collaborate and share information to drive innovation and reduce building emissions. As the founding chair of the Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association (SSRIA) I could have only imagined the impact we could have in Alberta. 20 projects, each driving change for the built environment, sharing information, innovation, successes and learnings have been able to demonstrate the vision from 2018 is a reality today. This reality wouldn't be possible without the support from Alberta Innovates and Prairies Economic Development Canada I Développement économique Canada pour les Prairies. I am thankful to Stantec's support for the original application for funding and to stand as the lead applicant that kicked off this journey. And increasingly thankful to the Board of Directors, the SSRIA staff (Pamela Goertzen, Alex Joseph, MBA, M.E.Des., Hasnain Baloach) partners, collaborators, innovators and visionaries that have supported through membership, ideas, applications and let's face it darn hard work. Driving change is not easy, especially in an industry as risk adverse as the design and construction industry. Incredibly proud of this organization and the effort of so many. As I have said so many times on this SSRIA path, "if it was easy we would of already done it". Take a minute to watch the video and follow me and SSRIA as future videos of each project are released in the coming weeks and watch for what SSRIA has coming up. Butterwick Projects LTD. Director of Infrastructure Advisory @ TYPSA | ICE Medalist, PPPs, Strategy, Digital Transformation, Impact
I am so looking forward to the Dallas #P3 Conference and meeting clients and partners. Let me know if you are coming. As TYPSA's director of advisory services, HERE IS WHY I am thrilled to attend: This renowned event convenes global experts to tackle critical challenges confronting the United States' infrastructure: ▶ Aging Infrastructure ▶ Growing demand for essential services ▶ The impact of climate change ▶ Limited financial resources This conference should serve as a platform to exchange best practices and lessons learned from international experiences, and at the same time boost the US as a point of reference for the #transformation of the infrastructure sector globally. I'm particularly eager to delve into how public-private partnerships (#PPPs) can effectively and sustainably finance and deliver #infrastructure projects. I intend to bring TYPSA's and my own experience and perspectives to the debate. PPPs have the potential to provide innovative solutions to our infrastructure challenges. I firmlyl believe that PPPs, when properly structured and implemented, can be a powerful tool for delivering high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of our communities. However, as I've learned through my extensive research and experience in the field, it's crucial to navigate the complexities associated with these partnerships. At the conference, I look forward to engaging with peers in discussions on: ✅ Mitigating risks and fostering collaboration among stakeholders ✅ Creating a conducive environment for private sector participation ✅ Striking a balance between public interest and profit ✅ Ensuring transparency and accountability in PPPs Beyond the conference sessions, I'm excited to connect with fellow attendees and learn from their diverse perspectives. If you're attending the event, let's make time to discuss the future of infrastructure development. Contact me directly on LinkedIn. Together, we can shape a more resilient and sustainable built environment for generations to come. #DallasP3 #PublicPrivatePartnerships #constructionindustry #civilengineering #sdgs2030 #sustainableinfrastructure #sustainableinvesting https://lnkd.in/dpq-KTqt The P3 Conference
