❓Remediation Acceleration Plan: Are We Ready for the Challenge❓ The UK government has issued a clear ultimatum: under the new Remediation Acceleration Plan, all buildings over 18 metres tall must start recladding works by 2027, with a target to make all at-risk buildings safe by 2029. Additionally, owners of buildings over 11 metres with flammable cladding must complete remediation works or set a completion date to avoid severe penalties. 🏗️ The task ahead is monumental, requiring collaboration across developers, contractors, engineers, and policymakers. Ensuring every tall building meets safety standards is not just a regulatory challenge - it’s a moral obligation to protect lives and communities 🏗️ As industry professionals, how can we accelerate progress while maintaining quality and a safe working environment for the residents living in affected buildings? Our Building Consultancy team can support you with all aspects to help achieve your remediation aims, providing the highest regulatory compliance standards relating to the amended Building Regulations for all building types, including higher-risk buildings. Have you heard of the Golden Thread Principle? If you haven’t, it’s a set of principles that was outlined in The Building Regulations Advisory Committee’s (BRAC) golden thread report. Its purpose is to store, manage, maintain, and retain the information that supports building safety, as well as ensuring the responsible people have access to the right information when it is required. The relevant information is stored digitally and includes details about the building’s lifecycle, from design to ongoing management. To read more and find out about the ten principles, you can visit our website and our ‘News & Insights’ section. #BuildingRegulations #TimberFrameSustainability #FutureOfConstruction #TimberFrameExperts #OffsiteConstruction #TimberFrameStructures #GoldenThread
