Do you think woman & girls should be free from the threat, fear or acts of violence? Of course you do, but they aren’t, even in Jersey. Take a minute to consider the following stats, pulled from the recent report on Violence Against Women and Girls in Jersey. 👉 More than three quarters of general public survey respondents had experienced sexual harassment in the last 12-months. 👉 One in four general public survey respondents have experienced rape and/or attempted rape in their lifetime. 👉 Almost two thirds of general public survey respondents did not agree that the Courts in Jersey take physical forms of VAWG seriously. But you can help mend our community by understanding the scope of the problem and resolving to take action. Kate Wright and her taskforce have lifted the lid on this shocking ‘hidden problem’ and have outlined ways in which we can help. Take a look at her post below or simply share it and keep this conversation alive. Read the report and view more resources here 👉https://lnkd.in/e5CxUJBh

In today's ever-evolving workplace landscape, fostering equity and celebrating diversity are not just noble aspirations – they are imperative pillars of organizational success and societal progress. However, we cannot ignore the challenges and hesitations some individuals face regarding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and anti-racism programs. It is precisely because of these struggles that we must persist in our collective learning journey and cultivate empathy in all interactions. By embracing diversity, we harness the power of varied perspectives, experiences, and talents, driving innovation and enhancing productivity. Moreover, fostering equity ensures that every individual has fair access to opportunities and resources, empowering them to thrive and contribute fully. Yet, the journey towards true equity and inclusion is ongoing. It requires ongoing education, introspection, and action. Through open dialogue, active listening, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we can create workplaces where every voice is heard, valued, and respected. With this in mind, I extend a warm invitation to join us for our 4th annual George Floyd Memorial Lecture, held on Zoom on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm EST. Together, let us engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and work towards building a more equitable and inclusive future for all. Yesterday, we had the privilege of attending the first Women's Night Safety Summit of 2024, an inspiring and pivotal event held at the prestigious Hurlingham Club. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing community safety and supporting the empowerment of women and girls, we are proud to reflect on the day's powerful discussions and initiatives. 🌃✨ The summit, aligned with the Mayor's Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and London's pledge to the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces global initiative, brought together thought leaders, activists, and community members in a collective effort to make our nights safer for women. Key moments included: - Engaging discussions on the importance of community licensing and its role in enhancing night safety. - A focus on how the sports community, particularly football clubs, are contributing to safer and more inclusive environments. - Insights into how businesses can innovate and adapt to ensure safety and support for women in the workforce and in public spaces. - The vital role of youth voices in shaping the future of our public spaces, emphasising the need for intergenerational collaboration. - and so much more. The Women's Night Safety Summit served as a powerful reminder of the urgency and importance of our collective efforts to ensure safety for women and girls. At STM Group, we are inspired to continue our work with renewed commitment, striving to contribute to a safer, more inclusive society. Let’s keep the momentum going. 🌍 #WomensSafety #security #womensnightsafety #stmgroup

1moTeresa Kuryn-Kohler, Esq. your advice is 100% spot on (at least for me) and reminds me of one my favorite quotes I've taken to heart by Maya Angelou. "Don't make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off of you." It has not served me wrong yet. Thank you for sharing your insights and I look forward to connecting more!
