We are proud to share with you that our MD, Rohit Maini, is one of the judges for the SME National Business Awards 2024. Made up of 20 categories that allow any successful business in the UK to enter these prestigious awards, all entries are scored by up to 4 different judges from a panel of up to 30 judges and all applications are seen by different members of the judging panel. The judges spend several hours and score not only their own sponsored category but several others too, to ensure transparency. If you want your business to shine, entering relevant industry awards is the best possible way to hit the spotlight. It’s the perfect excuse to reflect on your key achievements and to share your story. Time to reflect on this week's South Yorkshire International Trade Conference. Led by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce with the expertise of Sheffield International Trade Centre-SITC, this years conference saw us host over 135 delegates from across the UK and Europe, all with the common mission of expanding their international trade aspirations. Providing a space for collaboration and knowledge sharing, key discussion points included Brexit and CBAM, customs duties and import taxes, quicker access to export finance, and accelerating growth in international markets, all with an impending change of UK government. As a region, we all agreed it's vitally important that we support the ambitions of our world-renowned manufacturers and exporters, alongside the burgeoning sectors of Ed Tech, Med Tech, and Clean Tech. A joined-up approach from key regional stakeholders is pivotal to providing sustained economic growth through key initiatives such as the Investment Zone. To that end, it was fantastic to have The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, Made In Sheffield, British Chambers of Commerce, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Doncaster Chamber, and Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce all in attendance offering insight and thoughts. Thank you to all that attended, exhibited, sponsored, presented, and collaborated, making the day the success it was.
