For military caregiving families, life is often full and fast-paced. Even when there’s so much to do, taking the time for self-reflection can help ground you in the present. Try the I Notice, I Feel, I Can strategy together with children to help the whole family manage feelings big and small. 🧡 Step 1: I Notice… Pause to notice how your body feels. Step 2: I Feel … Name the emotion using a “feelings word.” Step 3: I Can … Choose something to help you manage the feeling. Remember to be gentle with yourself as you learn and grow in emotional awareness. Children can develop empathy, practice kindness, and create a sense of belonging for all by getting involved in their community. ✨ You can help children understand that a community is a group of people who live or work together and depend on one another, such as a family or neighborhood. Ways that children can help their communities include: • Acts of kindness, like sending notes or sharing a favorite book with another child 📔 • Family help, such as household tasks like organizing ingredients when cooking 🍲 • Community connection, such as learning about nearby events and exploring a few 🏫 Small actions can have a big impact for children and the world we share!
