I did a series of interviews with some of the partners. What emerged was that all think that #biobased and #biodegradable plastics will be increasingly used in Europe. Therefore, we need to ensure they have a correct end of life. So far we have virtuous examples of composting/AD as end of life but we know that infrastructure exists in few countries. See Italy, Ireland, Spain, Norway, co-collected with food waste. Elsewhere what do we do ? Well, we need to look at re-polymerisation so the materials go back into an industrial cycle. This is what Prosper aims to do. Honestly, damned difficult. It will be an exciting journey over the next four years and these partners can achieve this if anyone can.
Our kick-off meeting brought together project partners to discuss collaborative efforts over the next 48 months. We exchanged ideas, explored innovative solutions, and set the stage for impactful activities that will improve the sorting and recycling of bio-based plastics. A big thank you to our amazing partners: Steven De Meester, Jeroen Poissonnier, Nathan De Geyter, Dr.-Eng. Caterina Picuno , Wouter Post, David Robert Newman FCIWM, Orsola Bolognani, Marcel van Eijk, Julien Morlot, Teresa Simorte Gancedo, Pablo Busó, Hector Linuesa i Vic, Nicolas Braem, Mattia Avanzini, gerald schennink, Cristina Álvarez Requena PhD., Virginie Decottignies, Nancy Angela Peña Valbuena Annelies De Paepe, Karin Molenveld, Cecilia Giardi, Maria Correale, and many more! Your dedication and expertise are what will make this project truly impactful. 🤝✨ Stay tuned for updates, and don't forget to follow us on LinkedIn (https://lnkd.in/dhb_2ZVP) and YouTube (https://lnkd.in/dM6xDaVh) to keep track of the latest news, insights, and upcoming events.
