Beans Is How. Think this is too ambitious for the humble bean? Maybe it's not ambitious enough. Beans Is How is a dedicated campaign that aims to double global consumption of beans (along with peas, lentils, and other pulses) by 2028 in support of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger). Beans are nutrient-dense, affordable, accessible, versatile, shelf-stable, sustainable, and regenerative. They grow almost everywhere on the planet and – because they fix nitrogen – they enrich soil in the process. Beans also come in a wide variety – navy, black, black eyed, mung, fava, soy, cannelini, aduki, and chickpea. They can be enjoyed as meals, sides, snacks, desserts, sauces, dips, and even beverages. Almost everyone can find a bean to love.
