🎉Three cheers for our colleagues Mittal Shah, Charlotte Cregg for taking to the sky to raise vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer 🎗️. The hardest part was getting over the edge but the clear skies and views for miles helped to conquer fears, as they abseiled their way down all 289ft of the iconic Lloyds building in the City of London 🏙️🌄. Having raised over £1,500 already, the pair are hoping to smash past £2,000 for this worthy cause with your help. #7Days2024 is only two weeks away, and our close-knit team of cyclists are preparing to pedal over 1,100 km across Southern Ontario. John Barry, a seven-time participant in the event, explains his commitment to the challenge is fueled by a personal mission to change pancreatic cancer survival rates. “The end goal is to eliminate cancer; that’s the big goal, and I can’t do it, but I can do my part and help raise money." As pancreatic cancer continues to be underfunded, overlooked, and outpaced in research, survival rates are direly low. The lack of progress surrounding this disease instills feelings of frustration, sadness, and isolation for those facing a diagnosis. For patients to have a meaningful chance at survival, these emotions must be met with action, not sympathy. We want to empower Canadians to join Pancreatic Cancer Canada in our bold and unapologetic approach to make change happen. Together, we can raise the rate of survival. Join us in demanding #SurvivalNotSympathy by giving today: https://bit.ly/43cJgsT
In the next year, more Canadians will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer than ever before. We cannot let a 10% survival rate remain the status quo. We're dedicated to raising the survival rate through investing in research, specialized support services, and increased awareness, but we will not see meaningful change without your support. Join us in demanding survival, not sympathy by giving today. Make a secure donation through the link below: https://bit.ly/43cJgsT

Sunday was #WorldCancerDay, a day representing the impact on people globally who suffer the consequences from cancer, either directly or through those they love. More people than ever are now surviving cancer due to critical research, but this research can’t continue without our help. After the success of 2022, I have signed on to undertake the continuous 100km solo again – this time for Cancer Research on June 8th-9th 2024. This is part of the #UltraChallenge2024 which are a recognised series of immense challenges to support charities across the country. The challenge will involve covering a distance of 100km (62 miles) over 2.5km elevation (or ~2.3 Snowdon’s) and will take somewhere between 24-30 hours, continuing the journey through the night. Those of you who spoke or saw me after last time I did this know it was no easy feat, it took me 31 hours, along with plenty of tears and losing part of a toe! The aim this time is to be quicker, and hopefully keep more toes… I know times are hard but any amount you can spare no matter how small or big, will be unreservedly appreciated. Alternatively, any support/advice you can offer would also be appreciated, along with any playlist and/or podcast recommendations for the journey. And a massive thankyou to those supporting from Mott MacDonald, as colleagues and friends. If anyone you know would be interested in the challenge or donation, please feel free to forward this on. JustGiving Link: https://lnkd.in/dTKAYvwi All donations are considered voluntary and appreciated. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. As a leader, what can you do to support this cause? 💗Encourage your team to do self-checks and visit a doctor for yearly exams. Most people on your team know someone who has experienced breast cancer. 💗Use a breast cancer walk as a team building exercise and raise money for a good cause at the same time. 💗Donate to a breast cancer group (whether it is for research or one that helps women going through treatment). If you have the funds, encourage your team to donate and match their donations. Do your research before donating. 💗Donate your time and/or services to a breast cancer organization. Whether it’s driving patients to treatment or helping a non-profit with their marketing, you and your team can find ways to give back. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #CPADept #October

Next week, some of our SAFE-door Industries Ltd team members will take part in Gelt Gladiator 2024 event to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK It’s going to be tough; it’s going to be muddy, but it will definitely be worth it 💪 😀 Together, we want to support our colleagues, employees, dads, brothers, partners and friends by raising awareness and funding lifechanging research. Research shows that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer, yet far too many men are completely unaware of their risk. It is not always life-threatening, but when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured. Join us in supporting our team and the great cause – every word of encouragement will be more than needed! And if you would like to donate, you can do it via our JustGiving page: https://lnkd.in/eirYh7uc #charity #teameffort #fundraising #givingback #geltgladiator2024 #raisingawareness #prostatecancer #prostatecancerawareness
