🚀 Attention K-12 Edtech Leaders: "If you are not already hiring for your team then you should start now!"🚀 As the academic year winds down and summer break approaches, it's crucial for education technology companies to gear up for the influx of demand from schools preparing for the next academic year. Here is why: 1️⃣ School Decision-Making Timeline: Schools are finalizing their plans for the upcoming academic year NOW. This means they're evaluating and selecting the technology products they want to incorporate into their curriculum. To meet their needs, your team needs to be ready to engage with them and showcase the value your solutions bring to the table. 2️⃣ Implementation Preparation: Once schools have made their decisions, they need time to implement new technologies effectively. By hiring now, your team can provide the necessary support and resources to ensure a smooth transition for educators and students. 3️⃣ Customer Support Readiness: With the school year ending, educators will have more time to explore new technologies and seek assistance. Having a fully staffed team in place ensures timely responses to inquiries and support requests, building trust and satisfaction among your user base. 4️⃣ Stay Ahead of the Competition: Edtech is a competitive field, and being proactive in hiring gives you an advantage. By assembling a talented team before the rush, you position your company as a reliable partner for schools seeking innovative solutions. Don't wait until the last minute to staff up your team! Act now to capitalize on the opportunity to help empower schools for success in the upcoming academic year. 📚💻

I make you money and create value with data and AI, built multiple billion dollar plus data and AI driven products
How do we define smart and successful? Having kids in school, I am focusing a lot on that phase of life and how successful people are there. Schools are not really set up for a gifted child. It’s really designed to move at the average student’s pace. So smart kids tend to be bored and not challenged until probably high school. As a result, those gifted kids tend not to develop very good study habits which then hurt them when they need to study. However, since they were doing well for years, good discipline around learning was ignored by the adults around them. This is why you see around the 7th or 8th grade a marked decline in grades with these kids. And I hear from parents being confused why it is happening. Then there is just the awareness factor. There have been studies done of kids who studied and didn’t study for a test. The kids that didn’t study felt they did pretty good on the test and felt very confident in themselves. While the kids who did study felt they didn’t do well and had a lot of self-doubt. The kids who felt they did well, wrote everything they knew so they felt they put everything there was to know, on the test. While the kids who felt they did bad, knew there were things they didn’t know and therefore felt they could have done better if they just had more of that information, they know they were not aware of. They are smart and self-aware and aware of the world around them and so know the pitfalls more than the non-studied counterparts. The thing is, the kids who felt they did well, didn’t do well at all. While the kids who felt they didn’t do well, actually outperformed the other group, consistently. Feeling smart and being smart are not the same. Why does this matter? In the world of business, especially around hiring, people hire based on feeling, not knowledge. Think about the world of data and analytics. Hiring is really being done by the group who thinks they did well on the test but didn’t. Because often they miss the whole point and they end up hiring someone who doesn’t actually know how to do data and analytics leadership or they tie their hands and make the job an IC role. Meanwhile the person who knows what they are doing collects and unemployment check because the hiring team didn’t study.

Assessments - what do you think? If we're assessing students to create objective data insights through CAT4, why wouldn't we use similar methodologies to help make the hiring process more objective (and fair)?
Many schools use are familiar with data-driven insights from entrance assessments such as CAT4 tests. These help to provide objective insights relating to students' abilities and create personalised learning plans. In amongst the objectivity, another benefit is elimination of unconscious bias that may be applied in entrance selection, disadvantaging specific groups. Surely if we use data to inform how we admit and support students, we can need to find a way to apply objective data insights to shine new lights on how we hire and retain staff? Often, our minds are closed to a large part of the candidate pool due to habit, unconscious bias or because frankly, we’re looking at signals that have no predictive validity of a high performing employee. By objectively assessing candidates' hidden competencies, motives, values and compatibility with your school's unique environment, we can help you ensure a ‘better fit’. This method enhances teacher performance, satisfaction, and retention, ultimately leading to improved educational outcomes. Discover how our data-driven talent analytics can help you find the 'TRUE BEST FIT' for your school. Let's work together to turn the global talent crisis into an opportunity for growth. www.10kschools.com/welcome

Strategist & Futurist | Neo-generalist passionate about continuous learning, market intelligence, strategic communications & business transformation | Champion of women, enterprise growth & strategy💥
This ❤️ In an era when companies are striving for greater efficiency and productivity (i.e. ROI / Business Outcomes), facing talent shortages, and are at the tip of the iceberg as to the coming job title/role disruption due to automation and AI. It's more important than ever to weigh curiosity and growth mindset vs experience. What were once considered soft skills, may be truly be the power skills of the future. Hire for the agile, the critical thinkers, the problem solvers, the solution developers, those who see how the pieces fit together and how greater value can be extracted from driving more synergy between the specialist siloes. #OrganizationalAgility #TheFutureofWork
Why we often hire for knowledge when a quick learner may prove a better choice The decision to prioritize hiring candidates with existing knowledge over quick learners is a complex one. Factors such as immediate job requirements, organizational stability, and the perceived value of experience might contribute to this choice. However, in a rapidly changing landscape, reconsidering this approach could tap into the potential of adaptable and fast learners who can readily tackle new challenges. Which one would you hire? John Ousterhout is a Computer Science professor at Stanford and made the quote “A little bit of slope makes up for a lot of y-intercept”. It shows us how important it is to think long term and not going for the easiest solution. Another idea would be to start small, grow fast and think big - also in hiring. What if you would already use the best students in your business? Check Quarero AG #careers #humanresources #management #strategy
