🥈 The Power of Complete Stories We often hear the phrase, "a single story can be dangerous." It's not just a warning but a call to action. This video perfectly encapsulates why we need to tell complete stories. In an age where snippets and sensational headlines dominate, we risk overlooking vital contributions and perpetuating outdated myths. You've probably seen it: a 51-year-old Turkish man, Yusuf Dikec, competes in a wrinkled T-shirt, minimal equipment, and wins Olympic silver. Social media is swamped with admiration for this "cool guy shooting with his hands in the pockets" and I loved it too. Someone who makes mastery look smooth and easy. I admire that AND appreciate all the practice that goes into making it look smooth and easy. But there's more to the story. Yusuf Dikec's journey to the podium was not a solo act. His achievement was part of a team event, where he competed alongside Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, a 24-year-old who shares his passion and skill. In fact, if we look at their individual performances, Sevval placed 7th, while Yusuf placed 13th in the same discipline. Yet, the narrative we celebrate on social media is that of a lone male hero. The woman, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, is barely mentioned. This selective storytelling not only skews reality but diminishes the recognition of women's contributions in a field where they've worked just as hard and excelled. Why do we allow such imbalanced narratives to flourish? Have we truly moved beyond patriarchal thinking when we still, consciously or unconsciously, erase women from their rightful place in history? Inclusion is always active, so let's actively challenge and change these narratives. Let’s share stories of achievement and excellence including everyone who deserves the spotlight. It’s time to honor the complete story, it's time to honor "the cool woman with her hands in the pocket." #FemaleLeadership #Leadership #ShowUp #beyondthesinglestory #checkyournarrative #paris2024 #olympics #silvermedal #teamachievment

A Lesson from Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim Does anyone remember what happened in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when two high jumpers cleared the same height and faced a jump-off to determine the winner? Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim made an unprecedented decision: they chose to share the gold medal. With a simple nod and an embrace, Tamberi and Barshim showcased the true essence of sportsmanship, highlighting that sometimes the journey and the bonds we form along the way are more valuable than the medals we seek. Their decision reminds us all of the following: - Collaboration Over Competition: In both sports and business, collaboration can lead to greater achievements and deeper connections than competition ever could. - Shared Success: Success is sweeter when shared. Celebrating each other's victories can create a more supportive and enriching environment. - Human Connection: At the heart of every endeavour are the relationships we build. Prioritising these connections can lead to more meaningful and fulfilling experiences. How important is teamwork, celebrating collective success, and cherishing friendships in your professional life? #Collaboration #Leadership #Teamwork
When Gianmarco Tamberi and Mutaz Barshim put friendship over competition. 🤍#MoreThanSport #Paris2024

Let’s not beat around the bush: storytelling takes time and love for the subject. It requires patience, the ability to stop, restart, take three steps back, and then five forward. The world of sailing, in particular, is far from being filled with romantic seafarers gazing at the ocean with dreamy eyes. It’s made up of passionate and pragmatic individuals, constantly pushing the boundaries – both technical and psychological. People who look far ahead but are entirely focused on the present moment. You can sense it when you watch them in action during an America’s Cup round or in the rare footage from offshore races. But to fully grasp it, you have to talk to them: poetry follows action, not the other way around. Working with SLAM to tell the story of Emirates Team New Zealand was the perfect example of pure, unfiltered storytelling. The kind of project where, if you don’t take the time to observe, listen, and truly understand who you’re dealing with, you won’t get anywhere. A project where satisfaction isn’t measured in smiles or handshakes but in concrete actions. It was one of those challenges where we often thought we wouldn’t make it… and yet, there it is: used by SLAM and ETNZ as part of their America’s Cup communication. It took us some time to realize it, but now we can say it with confidence: we were part of it too. Thanks to Maurizio Priano, SLAM and Emirates Team New Zealand for the opportunity.
Slam approached us with the task of supporting their campaign for Emirates Team New Zealand, an iconic team participating in the America’s Cup. The challenge was to authentically narrate the story of a team deeply rooted in the world of sailing, capturing their unique spirit while ensuring the content resonated with global audiences during a time of heightened media attention. We immersed ourselves in the essence of Emirates Team New Zealand, drawing inspiration from their innovation, resilience, and profound connection to the sea. Our approach focused on crafting impactful and meaningful content that authentically represented the team, while aligning with SLAM’s vision and the America’s Cup’s global prestige. The stories we created became part of Emirates Team New Zealand’s official communications during the America’s Cup, at a time when they were in the global media spotlight. When Novak Djokovic, Steph Curry, and LeBron James declared that representing their countries at the Paris Olympics was the pinnacle of their careers, I understood completely. Their words took me back to a moment that transformed my life and career forever. It wasn't at the Olympics, but at the SLS World Cup of Transformation in Mexico City. As I stood there, holding the Philippine flag 🇵🇭, I felt a surge of pride and responsibility that I had never experienced before. In that instant, I realized why those sports legends felt the way they did. The video I'm sharing with this post, set to a lyrical version of "Amazing Grace," captures the essence of that transformative experience. Every time I hear this melody, I'm transported back to that pivotal moment when everything changed: • I went from being an individual to embodying the hopes of millions of Filipinos • My role shifted from a professional to a cultural ambassador • I transformed from a participant into a catalyst for change This wasn't just about holding a piece of cloth. It was about representing the spirit, potential, and dreams of an entire nation. The weight of that flag in my hands became the weight of responsibility on my shoulders - a weight that has shaped my journey ever since. The transformation didn't end when I lowered the flag. It continues to influence how I approach my work, my relationships, and my role in our global community. Like those Olympians, I found that representing my country wasn't just an honor - it was a life-altering experience. To my fellow professionals: Have you had a moment that unexpectedly transformed your career and life perspective? How has it shaped your journey since? Let's share our stories of transformation. After all, in the Philippines, we have a saying: "#SanaALL" - may we all experience such profound moments of change and growth. #PersonalTransformation #GlobalCitizenship #ProfessionalGrowth #RepresentPH #AmazingGrace --- P.S. As you watch the video, let the melody of "Amazing Grace" remind you of your own transformative moments. How have they shaped your amazing journey? https://lnkd.in/g6-_4VHQ

A key highlight of his presentation was the emphasis on inclusion as an integral part of sports integrity, showcasing how creating inclusive environments fosters trust, innovation, and long-term success. 📹 We’re excited to share a highlight video from his speech, where he delves deeper into why inclusion is a cornerstone of integrity in sports—don’t miss this thought-provoking insight! 👏 A big thank you to ELLEDA for providing an excellent platform to discuss how sports integrity, inclusion, and business growth go hand in hand. #SportsIntegrity #InclusionInSports #BusinessGrowth #SportsManagement #EAGLEsportsintegrityservices #ELLEDA

I have seen some posts buzzing around #LinkedIn feed regarding a comparison of a #OlympicsGoldMedalist #ArshadNadeem and may be a quiz champion who defeated 300 candidates in a #championship Outside #Pakistan I am not saying that her achievement is nothing or not getting negative but the point is that the world works on the algorithm of #capitalism from since centuries. The moment you give business you will get the appreciation. The more you get the business the more you will get the appreciation. 1 day after #ArshadNadeem won the #GoldMedal in #ParisOlympics a young blood from #Swat #KhyberPakhtunKhwah won a gold in in #WorldTaekwando #Championship in #Thailand people tried to make him famous by criticising the stake holders but who cares? He was not the one who was bringing in the business that is the bitter truth. So comparing Arshad and the prizes he has been awarded with anyone in the recent times is a stupid move or i may say the one who do it has no idea how the world works. I am acknowledging other's achievements but i am never going to compare them with Arshad. Why? First of all, he was representing the country at the biggest stage in the world, Secondly, he won the gold in one of the major games in Olympics. The third reason is the men games are more competitive than the others. So, these reasons made him more popular and yes one more thing which is meant to be mentioned is he won it without any #Aid and proper training. So these reasons are evidently distinguishing him from other players and their achievements. #CapitalismAndRecognition #FinancialImpactOverAchievement #ValueDrivenByRevenue #ArshadNadeem #ParisOlympics #Pakistan #TheCapitalistAlgorithm #BusinessOverMerit #RecognitionForSale #ThePriceOfSuccess #Capitalist realities #AchievementVsProfit #TheValueOfSuccess #OlympicGoldMedalist #TaekwondoChampion #QuizChampion #SocietalValues #EconomicRealities #MeritocracyVsCapitalism #InequalityInRecognition
