Engineers shape the world we live in. By embracing diversity, they can unlock new ideas and develop more effective, inclusive and safe solutions for everyone. The EDI Engine report released earlier this year summarises the direct impact that EDI in the industry has on people, products/services, partnerships and processes. For example, from a product side, diverse and inclusive teams have 121% more patent citations than homogeneous teams.   It is therefore such an honour to be the EDI partner for the Royal Academy of Engineering's Inclusive Leadership Programme. The second cohort of this programme launched earlier this month, filled with celebration, learning and collaboration of inclusive practice. It was great to meet so many engineers across numerous firms who have come together to push for change.   For those engineering firms in our network, where are you on your inclusion journey? Improved communication: Without the constraints of a formal agenda, coffee catch-ups encourage open and honest dialogue. 2. Increased creativity: Relaxed environments stimulate innovative thinking and problem-solving. 3. Stronger relationships: Informal meetings build trust and rapport, leading to more effective collaborations. 4. Time-efficient: Coffee catch-ups are often shorter and more concise than traditional meetings. 5. Flexibility: They can be held anywhere, at any time, making them ideal for busy schedules.
