The U.S. economy and our environment are deeply intertwined. A strong economy relies on a stable climate, clean air and water, and the many other benefits that nature provides. The loss of ecosystems, through climate change and overuse, negatively impact our country’s economic growth, sustainability, and resilience. The national strategy to develop a U.S. system of natural capital accounts and environmental economic statistics has been out for a year! The strategy charts a course to create a system to account for our natural assets—including the minerals that power our tech economy, the ocean and rivers that support our fishing industry, and the forests that clean our air. So much hard work has gone into implementing the strategy.. lots to celebrate and more coming! https://lnkd.in/ebxR3AGa

When your ICP shows up in your feed... Force of Nature Meats nailed the problem statement perfectly in this post. Converging forces of changes in land ownership, growing demand for regenerative products, barriers to entry for the next generation, and climate incentives are exactly why now is the perfect time for Downland's work. We match landowners with the next generation of climate-smart producers to raise great food for generations to come. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gFDhYA5S and get involved by investing. A minimum investment of $100 means most folks can join this important mission as this industry emerges.

Working with landowners to develop high-quality carbon offsets for compliance and voluntary markets.
Nature-based carbon solutions are necessary, in demand, and here to stay. Green Assets’ active conservation projects allow landowners to generate long-term revenue by keeping and managing their forests as forests. Exciting to see carbon in the news in the Sunshine State.
📰 ICYMI: Big thanks to Green Assets, Inc. CEO Bailey Evans and ACR's Kurt Krapfl for spreading the word about the role of carbon markets in keeping forests standing. You can read their thoughts here published in the Sun Sentinel Media Group: https://lnkd.in/g4ZcjdKq

Great explainer by Wedgetail feat Wilderlands Co-Founder Paul Dettmann exploring the question of how we value nature 🌱 With contributions from conservation and environmental market leaders including Simas Gradeckas, Ash Welch, Jae Lubberink, Drea Burbank, Lindsay Ellis and Jessica Richmond, we’re grateful to 🐝 Bronte McHenry for the inclusion as part of this piece. This article, which is part of a four-part series, discusses the history of how nature has been exploited over time and explores how placing a value on nature can play a role in shifting this pattern and asks what that value should be. We’re looking forward to following this series and are particularly excited for part two exploring the role of biodiversity credits in any solution and looking at case studies of collaboration between credit developers and companies making protecting nature a priority. Give it a read below and let us know what you think. #conservation #biodiversity
Instinctively, we know it’s absurd that breathable air is worth less than paper. And yet, it is... (The latest edition of Nature-Positive Notes is live. Have a read, and let us know what you think.) #naturalcapital #naturepositive

Transition with lizards | Decarbonizing cities & industries | Energy sharing & waste heat recovering | E.ON ectogrid™
🦎Ever wondered how some animals manage to thrive by perfectly adapting to their surroundings? 🦎 Meet the ectotherms! Ectothermic animals, such as reptiles and amphibians, rely on external environmental heat sources to regulate their body temperature. They bask in the sun or seek shade to maintain the perfect balance, operating at incredibly economical metabolic rates. This clever adaptation inspired us at E.ON to rethink how we approach heating and cooling in urban areas. Resulting in our unique E.ON ectogrid™ solution. By mimicking these natural strategies, we’ve developed systems that optimize energy use, reduce waste, and help create a more sustainable future. Curious to learn more? Check in the comments below

New month, New(ish) SubStack article. In 'How much would you pay to save Earth' I explore the topic of pricing nature, what value do we attribute to nature and the difference between price and value. This article was previously published last year, but has since been archived, as such I thought I would post it on my SubStack. You can read and subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/eNna4Q6G

Sacrificing 3 billion trees annually - Is that our answer to a latte on-the-go? ☕️ Between 2012 and 2020, every person in the EU contributed an astronomical 73kg to paper packaging waste each year. That's an alarming 10kg increase per person from just 8 years ago. ⏱️ Imagine this - every takeout meal, every on-the-move coffee session, is costing us a piece of our forests. Innocently labelled 'eco-friendly', these paper cups carry an untold saga of environmental damage. Before your next takeaway, think twice. 🤔 Will you contribute to the 3 billion or make a difference? The power is in your hands.
