How does your 2025 closet look like?👖👗 When I sit down and talk with fashion professionals from international and national retailers and brands, I like to ask l this question. It’s a question they have never been asked before. However. 👇👇👇 It’s a crucial one. Because if you already can anticipate on this changing customer behavior: you are in the lead. Paving the way for more sustainable wardrobes and giving your audience what they want and need. ❌Now your closet (and your customers) might be 100% fast fashion But imagine if it looks like this by 2025: ✅1/3 sustainable basics ✅1/3 vintage fashion gems ✅1/3 upcycled pieces The world would look so different: - no more clothing waste in nature - reduced emissions, energy, co2, pollution - better working conditions Inspiring leader Stuart Trevor (the genius behind AllSaints) shares in a podcast of Clothing Coulture how he has created his brand STUART TREVOR that doesn’t produce new clothes. Upcycling it’s called. And he collabs with the most new and inspiring brands. Is your brand already looking into upcycling? Send me a DM if you’re interested, we’re currently working on a upcycling project which might benefit your brand🔥 #upcycling #upcycledfashion #nomorewaste #sustainablefashion https://lnkd.in/egjFFvvD

Thank you to everyone who celebrated this news with me last week! For those that may have missed it, I have joined Kestrel Jenkins as co-host of Conscious Chatter Podcast for Season 7. Our first episode launched last week where we explore, "Why self work is integral to advocating for transformation in fashion & why we must deeply question our personal values to truly get active in creating change". Would love for you to tune in and to hear what you think! And if you already have, what did you learn?! https://lnkd.in/g7HCmeJy Here's some teasers from the episode: "I think this direct add to cart mentality when you find an outfit you love on social media, is so concerning. Like, who are we? We just want to look like everyone else? What is fun about that? That leads me to think about us as a society — we’re going through this massive identity crisis. We often don’t know who we are — which I think that disconnect with self leads to not knowing what we want to wear. Which leads to buying more and more stuff to try to fill that void. Which also feeds into this fear of being different. But why are we afraid to do our own thing?? I love what you said when we were prepping for this show – you said, ‘If we embraced being different more, fast fashion wouldn’t be as popular!’” - Kestrel Jenkins "Over the years in this space, I’ve been really trying to encourage us all as a human family, to go deep because unless we do the inside work, the heart centered work, we can’t do the outside work. I often say that governments and larger, impactful hierarchical structures and systems are made up of people - everyday individuals - and if we all were more aware and brought our values to the table, what kind of world would we live in? One where there was more freedom, justice, equity, care, love, truth, authenticity and joy - for EVERYONE - which is key when looking at fashion's equitable systems". - Natalie Shehata. If you know me, you know I love fashion (only my second love to homebuilding 🤭). Here is an interesting listen on how the fashion industry impacts climate: https://lnkd.in/eKVQVz2B Main takeaways are: The biggest generators of carbon are the process of creating textiles and transportation. Fast fashion contributes significantly to both since there's so much of it being produced and shipped across the world (think Temu, Shein, etc.). I know it's hard to resist, but opt for higher quality fabrics that with proper care will last for years, therefore reducing landfill waste. Very little clothing gets recycled into new fabrics and that's because polyester is so cheap. Did you know that polyester is made from petroleum? Yeah, let that sink in. That is partly why I love Rent The Runway (it's a subscription service that lets you rent clothes). They offer high-end fashion and other people get to enjoy this outfit after you (and let's face it, you'd never wear it again anyway). So, fewer items of higher quality (timeless) clothing when you buy, and rent when possible, especially for trendy items. #ootd #climateimpact #fashionindustry
