This past weekend, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes were not the only team making the most of their time at Silverstone! Our leadership team gathered for a team bonding day and had an amazing time at the track. 🏎️💨 They spoke about their goals for the next 12 months, took part in some team-building activities, including trying their hand at a "quick" tire change. Don't worry, though—they're much faster on the phone! The day has been described by Senior Consultant (Engineering), Matt Askew as: "An incredible experience at the Ignition Club for the British F1, where strategic insights, future direction, and team bonding were joined together with high-octane fun, food, drinks & competition." #Recruitment #TeamBonding #LeadershipTeam #Silverstone

I saw this commercial last night and it still bothers me. I've seen too many businesses that created the wrong culture by celebrating the wrong accomplishments. As a former combat leader, I understand the desire to build strong teams that are willing to sacrifice to support one another; that are so proud of what we're building that they're willing to sacrifice for our work. But as a civilian leader, I don't want to build a culture that glorifies all-nighters or missed haircuts or time away from families. I want to celebrate building platforms that are so stable they run for years with no unscheduled down-time that require all-nighters in the first place. I want to celebrate forming teams that are so efficient that an iterative product release doesn't break a sweat. I enjoy building teams that make difficult tasks look easy on a regular basis. I don't know the details behind building this frame, but on the surface, it doesn't sound like something to be celebrated.

Transformative Catalyst | Blending Divine Wisdom with Strategic Innovation to Elevate Organizations and Leaders
Playing into the Skid: Lessons from NASCAR to Corporate Training 🏎️💼 Imagine you're a NASCAR driver, the racetrack is your domain. You're trained for speed, precision, and, crucially, control during chaos. When a skid starts, instincts kick in. You steer into it, aligning with the car's momentum, avoiding an overcorrection that could lead to a total wipeout. Your focus? Where you want to be, not the wall you're desperately trying to avoid. Now, let's shift gears to the corporate world. Teams often face their version of 'skids' - market shifts, internal upheavals, disruptive technology. How do we, as leaders, train our teams to handle these moments? It starts with understanding the 'WHAT' and the 'HOW' of our team members - their behaviors (DISC) and driving forces. The 'WHAT' (DISC) helps us identify how our team members react under pressure. Do they take charge like a Dominant personality, or assess and calculate like a high Compliance individual? Knowing this allows us to position them where they can handle the skid without losing control. The 'HOW' (Driving Forces) uncovers the internal engines of motivation. What propels each team member forward? Is it the desire to innovate, to lead, to support, or to analyze? By understanding these forces, we can coach each individual to look through the windshield at the road ahead, channeling their momentum productively, even during a spin. Like a NASCAR driver, each member has the potential to steer effectively through organizational skids. By using science-backed assessments, we can understand their innate responses and motivations, harnessing them to maintain control and speed towards organizational objectives. So, let's ask ourselves: Are we preparing our teams to play into the skid, or are we waiting for the crash? #leadershipdevelopment #teambuilding #DISC #drivingforces #corporatetraining #resilienceatwork #transformationalcoaching

All Facts 💯‼️ One of my favorite videos about creating a culture of speaking up. Alan Mulally, who was the CEO of Ford, emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up. He highlights the need for leaders to demonstrate vulnerability and openness themselves, encouraging honesty and transparency within the team. By fostering an atmosphere of trust and respect, leaders can empower their team members to share their opinions and concerns without fear of reprisal. This approach cultivates a culture of psychological safety, where individuals feel valued and confident in contributing their ideas, ultimately leading to better decision-making and organizational success.

Reflecting on my first year at Ringover as 2023 wraps up, I'm grateful for the growth and lessons learned: 1️⃣ Learning never stops. Ringover's continual evolution to meet our client's needs has shown me the value of perpetual growth. 2️⃣ Embrace agility. Quick failures are stepping stones to swift successes, especially when venturing into new markets. 3️⃣ Diversity drives excellence. Inspired by my father's work ethic, I've learned to push through challenges, believing that breakthroughs are just around the corner. 5️⃣ Self-awareness is key. Recognizing my strengths and weaknesses allows me to lead with confidence and build a team that complements me. Excited for what the future holds, I thank everyone who's been a part of my journey. #IndyCar Leadership Committee : WHY NOW and NOT THEN? Trying to organize and understand the reason which lead to the "Enforcement" of the #IndyCar rules recently, but not during the 'Fast Friday Boost Scandal' during running at the Speedway back on May 21st, 2021? A few topics surface quickly, such as; 1) Severity of the infraction. 2) Total time of the illegal action. 3) #IndyCar Rule Vs. IndyCar Engine Competition Regulations. 4) Number of individuals with knowledge of the infraction. 5) Professional Ethics Vs. Deception. 6) Better understanding of Job Description & Corporate Role by the Commissioner. {I've gone on the record previously, and highly doubt #6, [just adding it for shite & giggles] resignation should be tendered with immediate effect} 7) Internal coup within the Engineering / Engine Technical Group, ("We'll quit if the rules go unenforced '!-{)." {IFF this is the "root cause" of the Rules Enforcement. THEN resignation should be tendered with immediate effect. AND #Roger Penske, please see report detailing the infraction of Regulation 3.3 Boost Control on May 21st 2021. (if you need to talk with me, the Fry Master has my cell number) Stay tuned; I'll be back as I expand on Items One through Five ... Six and Seven were just for laughs '!-{) [except the AND statement, that's no joke] Cheers,

Without any warning or conversation, I was kicked off the team. Getting blindsided especially when you care, always stings. Did I understand why? Not in the slightest. Am I glad it happened? Yes. Since then, I promised myself that I would do everything that I could to avoid this from happening to any team that I am apart of. Here are 4 simple guiding principles that have helped me do this: ➡ Seek to understand: There is almost always a layer you didn't know about ➡ Attitude. Effort. Behavior: These are my "big 3" controllables ➡ Avoid surprises: Involve your team and lead with transparency ➡ Documentation: It's about a healthy meritocracy that is equitable for all involved. 🤔 For the curious ones, I was kicked off of the track team 👟 for showing up very late to practice. We had a state championship caliber 4x4 team and didn't get to compete because of this. If my coach had followed any of the above guidance, she would have learned that I was helping a classmate complete a very remote service project and we unfortunately got his Ford Ranger stuck on a sandbar (we were filling sandbags for flooding) and had to wait for someone to tow us out. Live & Learn. #leadership #teamwork #growth

Celebrating Teamwork and Triumph: Lessons from Lewis Hamilton's Latest Victory Just watched an amazing Grand Prix performance – what a tough race in the rain! 🌧️ The Grand Prix truly shows how real teamwork produces results. It’s not just down to the driver; it's everyone else that contributes, like the pit crew, engineers, strategists, and support staff. Together, they make success possible! 🏎️💨 Seeing Lewis Hamilton navigate these challenges with determination and skill is truly inspiring. His resilience and dedication remind us that with the right support and hard work, we can achieve greatness. Like they say, there is no "I" in team. To be successful, you need to surround yourself with the right people who know more than you. As I’ve always said, it’s not me that’s successful, it’s us – the organisation. Everyone’s contribution matters. Your win is our success, and your losses are our lessons that make us stronger. As Lewis Hamilton once said, "You can knock me down, but I get up twice as strong." Let's adopt this mindset in our sales team, pushing through challenges together and coming out stronger. 🌟

Leadership books don't talk enough about lessons from the pitstop. If you’ve ever watched Formula One, you’ve definitely been in awe of the speed and teamwork of the pit crew. A team of two dozen individuals quickly changing tires, filling the fuel, and checking the aerodynamics in a well-choreographed series of actions- it's incredible how efficiently they execute the pressure of being seconds behind getting the checkered flag. Each member has a specific set of tasks and only a fraction of a second to complete them. They don’t have time to check if someone else has completed their tasks, but they have faith that the other crew members will have carried out their tasks perfectly. This strong teamwork at the pitstop is a great analogy for how businesses should run. When you give ordinary men and women the tools, plans, and ambition needed to achieve their goals, all you witness is magic. #leadership #teamwork #F1

VEREO is stepping on the gas to serve more manufacturers in Colorado! 🏎️💨 The only thing left to make the full transition from Business Excellence Group to VEREO is rewrapping our Pit Crew Challenge car. The redesign process is in full swing, so take one last look at this black beauty before it gets a big update! 🏎️🏎️🏎️ What's the Pit Crew Challenge? Test your company's teamwork, leadership, communication, and continuous improvement skills in a NASCAR pit crew simulation. Break up into teams and break your own time over a few hours of continuous improvement instruction and iteration. Most teams shave at least 40 seconds off of their original time.
