Actively soliciting direct user input on working software can make all the difference when building something new and was one of the key practices that led to the success of Direct File. As Direct File Chief Bridget Roberts mentioned in her conversation with Accounting Today: “thousands of people used IRS Direct File every day during tax season to do their taxes. The Accounting Today article about Direct File identifies key elements necessary to successfully design, develop and release complex software that makes a big impact: a blended team, reducing complexity, testing with “real” users, and especially making sure to release working software. Since 2012 Truss has been designing and releasing complex software projects for federal and state agencies, from NJ Unemployment Insurance to CMS, OHS, and SEC – and private companies too – with precisely these practices. As a core member of the blended team that designed, developed and released Direct File with the IRS, we’re thrilled to see IRS leaders highlight one of our founding Truss Values, “work shoulder to shoulder” in their recent conversation with Accounting Today. It gives us great pleasure to announce that the Solution for Insider Threat Hindrance (SITH) has officially been deployed to production and is ready for use by DITMAC (DOD Insider Threat Management Analysis Center) and US Navy personnel. 🎉 This project began in  2021, when Truss started working with the DOD to build a security product that would automate and expedite the detection and tracking of insider threat risks on the Non-Classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet).  The Truss team was tasked with building technology to improve federal processes and solve end-user needs, particularly those of insider threat analysts who previously tracked insider threats using a cumbersome and manual process integrating multiple streams of intelligence. Over the past two years the Truss team has worked closely with agency and contracting partners to develop a case management system that enables a more streamlined process for reporting and analyzing insider threats. Once teams complete the onboarding process, they can now begin managing unclassified cases in SITH.  This is a great win for the program, the DOD, and Truss. This achievement is a testament to our incredible team's dedication and hard work, including our partners at DDS and KPMG. We are grateful for the opportunity to work on this project and take immense pride in what we have accomplished together for the insider threat community. 👏 🎉 #civictech
