Or, if you've yet to ever cross the North Bridge, imagine walking along a 2' median in between oncoming traffic traveling 50+ mph, and weaving around bollards. Sound horrific? Here's your sign to change the situation. We need letters of support from organizations for Charleston County's federal grant application for Better North Bridge. Organizations can be businesses, nonprofits, houses of worship, clubs, civic associations, neighborhood associations, schools, or government agencies. Who do you know? Can you reach or give me a contact so I may do so? If you are connected to any of these things, please get a letter of support for Better North Bridge now! B.R.I.A.N is our Beyond Recovery Intergenerational Activity and Neighbourhood project. We are bringing together community groups, schools & faith-based organisations across the area. B.R.I.A.N is a training project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Our training covers the origins of intergenerational practice and what we mean by it, the principles of intergenerational practice, how to plan and evaluate an intergenerational project, as well as looking at the possible obstacles and challenges involved in Intergenerational work and strategies for overcoming them.

During the pandemic, when many grantees were forced to operate in crisis mode, College Futures deliberately aimed to foster a sense of care, support, and community, paired with stable and flexible funding. This was the start of a new policy grantmaking strategy that eventually grew to an “ecosystem” of 16 organizations, intentionally designed to advance connections, knowledge, and movement-building across higher education equity. Since 2004… We Cambridgeshire Community Foundation have awarded over £32 million through 10,000+ grants. We have supported thousands of organisations, including charities, community groups, schools and sports clubs. They have made a positive difference to hundreds of thousands of people. We have funded projects in every ward in Cambridgeshire. You can learn more about our impact in a new 20-year impact report and most importantly see some of the work of the incredible charities and community groups that make all the difference, especially for those facing the biggest challenges and disadvantage. Whilst I am proud to reflect on what has been achieved, our new Vital Signs report shows that there is still much, very much more to be done. For a brilliantly successful County like Cambridgeshire we can see that the gap between the wealthier and the more deprived districts has widened in the last decade. In our cities, there are stark inequalities relating to income, education, and health between the most and least deprived wards. In Cambridge, there is a 12 year difference in life expectancy between the most and least deprived people! In a County, world-renowned for education, we are below the national average in indicators of early years development and school engagement. Poor outcomes for children eligible for free school meals reflect the impact of deprivation on education and sadly, later life prospects. 🚨🚨🚨 NFHA’s latest #FairHousingTrends Report is out now! There were 34,150 fair housing complaints in 2023, the highest number of fair housing complaints recorded since NFHA began producing its Trends Report in the mid-1990s. Private nonprofit fair housing organizations processed the vast majority (75.52 percent) of these complaints, underscoring the need for lawmakers to allocate sustainable funding to support their critical work.
