This prompts service providers to reflect on the services they are providing, the referral methods as well as identifying gaps on service provision with regards to gender issues. Strength and courage come from within, and seeking help is a sign of bravery. Together, we can work towards a future free from gender-based violence. ICYMI: Celebrating Women's Month is Not complete without emphasizing the need to accelerate Menstrual Health Management #MHM education and policy support. Together with 40 high school students and 5 teachers of Pasig City, PH, we conducted two days of #MHM discussion & co-creating solutions on how to address #periodpoverty and #periodshame w/in their school and community. About 63% of the population in our communities are aged 25 and below. The burden this puts on the poorly resourced education and healthcare systems leaves our adolescent girls, young boys and orphans much vulnerable and highly exploited sexually in exchange for goodies and other services from the fortunate members of the society . "The Ethiopian Time Use Survey reveals that an overwhelming majority (93 per cent) of women compared to a little of half of the men (56 per cent) were engaged in unpaid domestic work and that women spend nearly twice as much time (49 per cent) as men (25 per cent) collecting fuel wood. On average, women spend 6.45 hours each day on care as a primary activity, compared to 0.29 hours for men.....Several strategies that can be useful to decrease the amount of time and effort required for unpaid care work".
