Why doesn't criminalizing homelessness work? ⚠️ IT'S INEFFECTIVE: arresting or fining a person does not solve their housing problem. It accomplishes nothing. 🏘️ It KEEPS PEOPLE HOMELESS FOR LONGER: not only are there fines, but the record follows a person attempting to secure a job and housing. It becomes a long-term barrier to exiting homelessness. 💡 IT DISTRACTS FROM SOLUTIONS: rather than punishing individuals without housing options, our communities should commit to the challenging yet sustainable work that has repeatedly proven effective in resolving homelessness. #HomelessnessIsSolvable Learn more about the Johnson v. At Access Adam Housing, we are dedicated to helping local authorities meet the critical need for fully compliant temporary accommodation. The recent government actions to tackle the homelessness crisis are a significant step in the right direction. However, we acknowledge that there is no quick fix, and a collaborative effort will be essential to address the underlying challenges. Through our strong partnerships with local authorities and our commitment to co-production, we help to empower local authorities to not only offer safer and compliant temporary housing but also establish longer tenancies. This approach is crucial in breaking the cycle of homelessness to offer sustainability and hope to those in need. Curious to find out more?
