Let’s talk taboo - imagine someone going into a high end designer for a scarf and saying ‘I only paid 2 quid in primark for this one so that’s all I’m going to pay’ … 🫣🫠 you wouldn’t! Going to a high end designer, you KNOW you’re getting a much more luxury item and a higher quality of service! Most people won’t post about pricing … however I’m all about transparency here! Prices often come up as one of the first topics of conversation when I interact with clients & I sometimes get people blank me when they hear prices! I’m used to hearing ‘that’s more than what I paid my last social media manager’ or ‘I didn’t think it would be that much’ Let me tell you why I charge what I do … I charge for my services based on my skill set & the luxury, bespoke service I offer. My prices are also based around how much time each service takes me & how much input is required. I have a price list for my branding & bespoke content services, however all of my management options are completely unique so this means we are able to work with EVERYONE to achieve a suitable plan/ budget for their business! Value yourself, your knowlege and your time and give your face/business the value it deserves! Always know your worth! 💪🏼💫 #socialmediamanager #socialmediamanagement #smm #letsconnect #businesssocialmedia

This is great! I love all the different viewpoints in the article. I agree brands need to stay relevant, while also staying true to their identity. One of the things I didn't get to talk about in the podcast is this idea of design as a capsule wardrobe: design is synonymous with the core functional pieces you invest in, like the little black dress, the fantastic pair of jeans that fit you like a glove, or a simple classic t-shirt. That's your design kit of parts, the foundation of your brand identity. But you keep it relevant by adding new twists: a pop of color, a new pair of shoes, a vintage accessory. This is how I view my work in design: what are the fixed elements that we don't want to change over time, and what are the flexible elements that allow us to stay relevant?
The The Coca-Cola Company🧊's design lead, Rebecca McCowan, recently argued that instead of doing rebrand after rebrand and continuing to reinvent, more brands should look to do it once and do it well🌟. Slow design offers a roadmap🛣️ for brands to build lasting connections with audiences by prioritising quality, authenticity, and consistency over short-term trends and quick fixes. Here's what some of the industries top designers had to say. Dani Gibson in conversation with Andy Cooke, BBH London; Mario Kerkstra, AMV BBDO; Camille Yin, Accenture Song; Ben Edwards, MullenLowe UK; David Allen, Leo Burnett UK and Jordan Blood, VCCP, Girl&Bear. The power of 1 big brand idea Starbucks has changed the way the world drinks coffee and in doing so has shown us how one strong and simple idea can create a truly powerful brand. Originally a single coffee store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, selling coffee to the market traders and their customers, Starbucks changed forever in 1981, when Howard Schultz first walked in and bought a cup of frothing Sumatra. With the help of some local Seattle investors he bought the business and the rest is history. From the moment he took control Schultz had a vision, to bring the Italian coffee-house tradition to America – to provide that third place between work and home. How did he do it? One insight comes from the man himself, in his book Onward; ‘Success is not sustainable if it is defined by how big you become. Large numbers that once captivated me – 40,000 stores – are not what matter. The only number that matters is ‘one’. One cup. One customer. One partner. One experience at a time’. For Schultz, it was never really about the coffee, but everything about the experience, and Starbucks story remains today a perfect example of how one big idea can create a truly successful and sustainable brand. ------------- Branding | Design | Digital | Content | Social Based in Cambridge, Sable&Hawkes help organisations stand out, grow audiences and drive results across multiple channels through inspired content and creative. Committed to the Importance of Customer Experience and Journey | Skilled in Understanding Environments and Developing Solutions | A Leader, Collaborator, and Educator | Specialist in Retail and In-Store Marketing |
A VISUAL HOW TO GUIDE: The Passion Here are 8 simple steps that every true VM acknowledges: 1. Love what you do. 2. Walk into your job excited about the possibilities that it can bring. 3. Feel comfortable in being a partner with your Corporate team. 4. Never stop working, supporting, and training your in-store team. You wore their shoes once and you would respect and remember your managers who took the time to develop you. 5. See and find positivity and possibilities in everything; don’t let budget restraints, store rank, lesser assortments or accessibility to visual enhancements be an excuse for creativity. Find your Diamond in the rough. 6. Don’t wait for fixed times to show your love for your team; celebrate your successes randomly, life is not planned and neither should be a time to celebrate. 7. Step back when you’ve completed a project and review it as a collective with your team for feedback; success is a team not an individual. 8. Love what you do. #visualmerchandising #merchandising #creative #vm #pm #retail #design #brickandmortar #stores #lovewhatyoudo #creative #brand #experience #hiring #work #opportunity #project #help #recruiting #instagram #resume #partnerships #thankyou #beauty #newopportunities #job #newjobs #projectmanagement #stores #storedesign #luxuryretail #travelretail #relocateable #director #manager #vpofvisual #jewelry #lingerie #shoes #accessories #cosmetics #fragrances
