Wow, I just got goose bumps reading this article about PROJECT EADEN by Green Queen Media. It's surreal to recognised by such a respected voice in the plant-based community what we have started. Their take on how realistic our meat is? Well, it's exactly what we've been aiming for these past three years. Rewind to 2022. We embarked on this moonshot project against all odds. Billions had already been poured into meat alternatives, with countless researchers dedicating decades to the cause. Yet, we weren't satisfied. The products out there? Not quite hitting the mark. But the urgency to tackle greenhouse gas emissions from meat production, especially cattle, was undeniable. Our mission was clear, and pretty ambitious: harness fiber technology to recreate ultra-realistic meat from sustainable proteins. No compromises. Scalable. Affordable. Because let's face it – only then can we convince the masses to shift from animal meat to options that are better for both people and our planet. Looking back, it seemed improbable. But isn't that the essence of entrepreneurship? That naivety that pushes you to start, despite the unknown challenges ahead. It takes a bit of obsession to convince yourself – and those early believers. Speaking of which, massive shout-out to our early backers: David from Magnetic Capital, Carl from Creandum, and Christophe and Patrick from FoodLabs. And to our first team members - Cian and Mimi. Thank you for believing in us and Project Eaden’s mission from the very beginning. Not to forget those who moved continents to join our mission: Sylvain from Tokyo, Pierre from Lebanon, and Elliot our Kiwi champion from New Zealand. Your dedication is what turns visions into reality. Now, just over two years since our initial funding, reading this third-party validation ... I'm humbled. Proud, yes, but mostly grateful for this incredible team and the unique technology we’d bring on its way. PROJECT EADEN’s future is brighter than ever. As we gear up for our next funding round to build production capacity for our market-debut next year, I'm reminded of why we started this journey. It's not just about creating alternatives; it's about crafting a future where sustainable, delicious food is the norm, not the exception. Onwards to the next chapter of Project Eaden. The best is yet to come. #ProjectEaden #FoodTech #meatfromplants #fibertechnology

🌍🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝🌍 Today, we celebrate the incredible bees and the vital role they play in our ecosystem. As we honor these tiny but mighty pollinators, let's take a moment to reflect on the valuable lessons they can teach us and how we can apply them to our businesses: Teamwork and Collaboration: Bees work together seamlessly, each playing a specific role to support the hive. In business, fostering a collaborative environment where every team member's contribution is valued leads to greater success. 🤝 Adaptability: Bees are highly adaptable and can thrive in various environments. Businesses must be flexible and ready to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs. 🌐 Efficiency and Productivity: Bees are incredibly efficient in their tasks, ensuring maximum productivity. Streamlining processes and optimizing resources can help businesses achieve more with less. ⚙️ Sustainability: Bees contribute to biodiversity and environmental health. Embracing sustainable practices not only benefits the planet but also enhances a company's reputation and long-term viability. 🌿 Innovation: Bees constantly seek out new sources of nectar and pollen. Aspiring Sea Gardener 🌊🌿🦪 Environmental Engineer, Educator and Entrepreneur Looking at the Oceans for Sustainable Solutions
I remember landing back in France last year feeling purposefully lost. 😵 We had left our comfort zone, were happy about it, but felt a bit overwhelmed by the blank page and the diversity of options. I felt the need of building some sort of a “compass” that would help me find my new way, but I wasn’t sure about how to do that. Here is a list of some of the ideas I've gone through over the past year, looking for my next project to work on : - Open a restaurant - Take over an oyster farm - Diversify an existing oyster farm - Consult for French oyster farmers - Be an entrepreneur in residence - Open an online store for oyster farmers’ gear - Apply to become co-founder of impact driven company in any field - Move back abroad and get a teaching or admin position 😱 - Host sustainable aquaculture summer camps - Create a Sino-French sustainable aquaculture best practice sharing platform (this one I actively started with DéDu - 德笃 , don’t hesiteate to check it out) - Open a sustainable aquaculture vocational school for international students - Build an oyster shells upcycling company - Create a pedagogical sea farm - Frantically apply to any job 😱 - Create an innovation-oriented pilot sea farm - Consult on the creation of a sustainable aquaculture ecovillage in Hainan, China (currently on the backburner but still around) - Become the French representative for foreign sea farming technologies and gear - Create online content such as newsletters (Hello there !) and web based trainings (more on this one at a later date) Until... - Identify the need to put value on the environmental services provided by bivalves, such as oysters, and seaweed and look for ways to monetize them to foster their restoration to fight climate change and biodiversity loss. It was nothing like a straight line. It has been an often frustrating learning process. Scary even. Especially when my wife and I started to see the bottom of the war chest we had set aside to keep us going (hence the 😱 panic applying to get back to safety at different times). But I feel my compass is now much clearer. And here are 3 core principles I used and am still using for building it : 1. Fall in love with the problem, not your solution 2. Entrepreneurship is an infinite game, get your mindset right 3. Less is more, don’t try to do everything Also a shout out to 3 inspiring projects and thinkers : Simas Gradeckas with Bloom Labs : MUST read for anyone even remotely involved with biodiversity these days ! Olivier Meynard frugal innovation approach incarnated in their Seablocks artificial reefs ! Damien Demoor and Greenov to foster blue innovation and find the right framing and backing to implement change ! If these raise your interest, come discover the new log of my Reefs Rebuilder's Journal where I go in more details around these topics : https://lnkd.in/dcjfBr6D

In This Episode, Stefan Shares How Circular’s Projects in New York Aim to Harmonize Agriculture, Hospitality, and Urban Farming http://s4g.biz/25jul24 tl;dr: 1. Innovative Real Estate Projects: Stefan Martinovic is a real estate developer focused on sustainable and regenerative projects. His company, Circular, has three major projects in New York: an agritourism resort on an old dairy farm, a standalone restaurant down in the Hudson Valley, and an urban gourmet mushroom farm in Harlem. 2. Agritourism Resort: The Livingston Farm project involves transforming a historic dairy farm into an 80-room regenerative agritourism resort. It integrates agriculture with hospitality, offering farm-to-table cuisine and accommodations that blend with the landscape. The resort aims to educate guests on sustainable practices and includes restoring the property's ecological health. 3. Sustainable Dining: Circular's restaurant endeavors include a formal dining restaurant and a casual café on the resort property, plus an off-site restaurant called Wren of the Woods in the Hudson Valley. These establishments will feature locally sourced, responsibly prepared food, leveraging waste products in composting and other regenerative practices. 4. Mushroom Farm and Waste Recycling: The mushroom farm in Harlem is designed to upcycle food waste from Circular's restaurants and other sources into a productive growth environment for organic mushrooms. This initiative highlights the company's commitment to sustainability and creating closed-loop systems. 5. Raising Capital for Expansion: Stefan and his family have invested significant personal capital into these ventures. They are now seeking to broaden their investment pool through small change offerings, inviting community members and other investors to contribute. The goal is to complete land acquisition, obtain necessary permits, and move forward with construction and operation phases. These points summarize the core aspects of Stefan's innovative work in creating environmentally sustainable and economically synergetic real estate projects. https://lnkd.in/e2nunP4g #ImpactCrowdfunding #DiverseFounders #SocialEntrepreneurs #CommunityCapital #ImpactInvestors #RIC #InvestmentCrowdfunding #SuperCrowd

The call to transform #food and #agriculture is loud, but the pace? Not fast enough. What if picturing what next looks like can help us believe we can make it and accelerate? Poke François Gemenne. Three iconic examples from ChangeNOW : - FEVE (Fermes En ViE) 🦔 is a citizen fund installing new farmers in agroecology all around France. On top of making the transition happening, it reignites something invaluable, the link between us and farmers that grow our food. One of the smartest investments you can do (yes, this is a call to action!) - Genesis has fixed a major issue in #RegenAgriculture, the real measurement of #soil quality, in the field. Progress becomes tangible and new practices can be planned and valued. Simply game changing. - Infinite Roots® is turning mushroom #mycelium into a source of nutritious food anywhere.
