In 2022, Central Florida’s tourism industry experienced remarkable growth, generating a record $87.6 billion in total economic impact—a substantial 31% increase over the previous year. Visitor Spending: Visitor spending surged by 38% to reach $55.5 billion, surpassing pre-pandemic levels by $7.5 billion. This spending boost was equivalent to the economic impact of 1,500 Taylor Swift concerts in Orlando or a concert every night! International visitors also contributed more, with their spending share rising to 7.6% in 2022. Job Creation: The tourism and hospitality sector created nearly 450,000 jobs in 2022, accounting for one in every three jobs in the region. Hospitality wages have increased significantly, with over 68% of surveyed lodging members offering a starting wage of at least $15 per hour or higher. Savings for Residents: Visitor activity generated $900 million in revenue, funding essential services such as fire and law enforcement. On average, Central Florida residents saved $7,500 due to tourism-related activities1. Popular Destination: Visit Orlando reported a staggering 74 million visitors in 2022, marking a 25% increase compared to 2021. Central Florida remains a hot spot for tourists and events. With the development of the Social Guild, we will not only tap into what is already established in Central Florida, but we are looking to create a new reason locals will grow without Guild. 🌟🌴🏨🎉

Dear World, Dear Reporters, Dear Reader, My small island nation, Samoa, is going to be hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) this year, the largest event to touch our shores. And at a time one should be celebrating such a momentous occasion, the headlines around the world read anything but. Samoa is on the up from COVID, the cash injection from travellers was not there during that time to help these hoteliers and hospitality owners upgrade their premises, or upkeep, with no other choice, through that tumultuous time, many left their businesses, sold up, closed up shop, to find other ways to provide for their families. Tourism is on the rise since that time in Samoa! And many hoteliers and hospo owners who held on through that time, and still hold on will deliver, through whatever means possible, they will be ready for this meeting! We are fighting. If you look at some of the reviews that have been shared about our small island nation, you can clearly see the reviews written by ‘multiple people’ are almost identical.. Same wording, same language ‘verbatim’. Anyone looking at these reviews would think, questionable?!? Just one look, fake news. Yet, some have chosen to look past these glaringly obvious identical reviews, and use them to head up articles, and bypass all the positive reviews. The other thing with these websites, you can’t verify whether these people have stayed in Samoa or at these particular locations, anyone could go on to these websites and write anything be it positive or negative. No, these articles are not about me, but I am just disheartened. At such a time when the Commonwealth Countries should be celebrating this small island nation hosting such a prestigious event, and lean in to support another fellow commonwealth country/island, yet papers want to focus on reviews, un-verified, and slam our wee nation before we even start. I can hand on heart say, ‘Sau,’ ‘Come’ - Come and experience Samoa and these locations, come review it first hand, then put pen to paper.. Come and talk to the owners, and villagers who are ready to host the commonwealth countries and leaders, they are only but willing to answer your questions and share our beautiful culture and world with you - and then tell me about your experience. Yes, Samoa is NO 5 STAR GLITZ & GLAM Country and we don’t claim to be, we are a small but proud island paradise, nestled in the Pacific - humble and quietly understated, coconuts and swaying palm trees, sea breeze and lava lavas, big smiles and bigger hearts, and as a small island nation we will deliver for the world stage a CHOGM like no other. Even if it were on the smell of an oily rag, money aside, we would still stop the world in its tracks for this meeting. Even my small village, across Samoa, we prepare with everything we have to light the Commonwealth stage on fire. SAMOA IS READY TO HOST CHOGM!

A new record high of $37.8 billion in visitor expenditure has been reached in Victoria in the year ending December 2023. The National and International Visitor Survey shows Melbourne remains the city of choice for Australians, further cementing its spot as the nation’s top overnight interstate leisure destination on visitation, nights and spend – with 3.9 million visitors spending $5 billion in 2023. Major events played an integral role in attracting many of these visitors, with a year-round calendar of top-tier events in Victoria – including last weekend’s 2024 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix, which attracted record-breaking crowds and resulted in an estimated nine out of 10 hotel rooms in Melbourne occupied and the city’s cafes, restaurants, bars and shops heaving. It was yet another example of the strength of Victoria’s major events calendar, which delivered $3.3 billion to the State’s economy in 2022-23.

The owners of the resorts? So what is really better to be in the portal? Or invest your money in sponsored promotion? All the truth in the face! If we ask you in a simple way, what do you prefer that we throw you on one big site that brings together all the accommodation complexes and you will be another "just" holiday complex on a big site... or that we take your business and put it directly on the front of your target audience, an audience that really wants to reach you and that No matter what your price is. I help hotels and restaurants increase their revenue exponentially through Digital Marketing,Video Marketing & Social Media Strategy
I have a huge bone to pick with the hotel industry in East Africa. They’ve been programmed to work with tour operators for the longest time, forcing them to opt into discount and massive commission fees to generate business - not forgetting that their hotel is left to the mercy of these tour operators. Question - if all hotels are using tour operators to generate business, then why would I pick your hotel over your competition? Especially if they’re throwing deals and discounts at my face? To make things worse, they’ll hire a “marketing manager” or “team” - who really doesn’t know what they’re doing, and pay them peanuts, expecting them to bring in tangible results. Really? You’re resting the backbone of your business on some kid who doesn’t even know how to calculate occupancy rates. Sure, post ugly posters of the hotel with a discount on social media, expecting it to be seen by anyone and generate business. Then complain that your customers aren’t on social media or that social media doesn’t work. Cut through your profit margins and then continue complaining that the ONLY way you can get business is by using tour operators. It’s no wonder the tourism industry here isnt as strong as western countries. To the East African hotel industry- it’s time to start innovating. We’re moving into a new era, and believe it or not, you’re slowly dying because you don’t want to make the shifts that you need to make. And if you are one of the few hotels that want to actually innovate and take advantage of the new shifts, send me a message. There’s never been a better opportunity to destroy your competition and take all the cake for yourself.
