Who can remember this area of land off the M1 before it became Markham Vale - before there was even a junction 29a? 🤔 It's hard to believe it's 20 years since we began developing the former Markham Colliery site with property developer HBD, part of Henry Boot. Over the past two decades, it's been transformed from a derelict area into a prime business location housing 70 businesses of all sizes supporting more than 2,700 jobs. 🏢 And there are plans for further expansion and green initiatives. There's also a sense of community and remembrance fostered through the ‘Walking Together’ memorial - a lasting tribute to men who lost their lives in mining disasters at the site in 1937, 1938 and 1973. ❤️ Want to know more? 👀Are you a parent or teacher, or involved in a Derbyshire school in any way? Did you know your school could claim a free tree as part of our Million Trees project? 🌳🌳🌳 Our cleaning and landscape maintenance contractor Vertas Derbyshire Limited is kindly paying for the trees for schools. ✨ 🏫 Schools without space to plant a tree in their grounds can suggest an alternative public space in their community and we'll plant any which aren’t claimed, on the school’s behalf. 🤔 Want to know more? Was your home or business severely damaged by flooding between 19 and 25 October 2023? There's still time to apply for up to £5,000 through the Property Flood Resilience Grant Scheme to help protect your property from further flooding in the future. Owners of flood-hit properties can apply for the funding to put resistance measures in place such as flood doors, barriers and pumps. The grants can also be used for resilience measures such as water-resistant plaster and replacing suspended timber floors with solid concrete to reduce the impact of flooding should it occur and help you to recover more quickly. 👀Find out more here https://ow.ly/R98950SAyzB
