Together with other major public and private healthcare operators in New Zealand, Vital helped lead and fund the development of climate change scenarios which were released last week. A Leadership Group (including Vital’s Fund Manager Aaron Hockly), Technical Working Group (including Vital’s Sustainability Associate Abbey Pickering) and Te Ao Māori Roopu, each consisting of health sector experts, were established to support and oversee this work. A European Agenda to Navigate Uncertain Times - How to Steer the EU towards Wellbeing for All ⚙ The good news is that in Europe, we have the opportunity and knowledge to shape the direction of development towards sustainable and inclusive wellbeing, even in uncertain times. Despite geopolitical tensions, living costs, inflation, rising inequalities, climate and biodiversity crises, polarisation, and an aging society, we are not bound to fall into despair. The policy agenda of the new European Commission has all the opportunities to address these complex challenges. Our new advocacy paper, co-authored by our MERGE sibling projects SPES Sustainability Performances, Evidence & Scenarios, ToBe Research, WISE Horizons and WISER, aims to support the new European Commission in this task. There is no need to start from scratch: The Commission can build on an existing body of governance, measurement frameworks, policies, legislation and good practices within the EU and globally. Read the paper below to discover how to steer the EU towards wellbeing, now and in the future 💡 #MERGE #european_agenda #governance #societal_transformations

Make It Good | I sit at the intersection of sustainability, purpose & storytelling to help accelerate regenerative futures, now. Currently working on the 'Oxfordshire Doughnut'.
Here's your Monday dose of hope👇🏽 ✨ Yesterday, the United Nations adopted the #PactForTheFuture - negotiated & signed inter-governmentally, it's a new, 'turbo-charged' Action Plan to address the biggest issues humanity faces now, from peace & security, to sustainable development & financing, to global governance. There are two actions that are potentially transformational; 🌏 #Action53 - "We will develop a framework on measures of progress [that] go beyond gross domestic product (GDP)" 💥. This is a huge development, agreed inter-governmentally, & signed by the UK Government. 🤠 Hat tip to Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) for playing a key part in normalising this conversation #changethegoal. 👧🏽#DeclarationofFutureGenerations (Annex II)- Recognising that actions taken now have an impact on the #healthandwellbeing of #futuregenerations, the declaration leads with a recognition of "the primary role and responsibility of governments at all levels...towards safeguarding the needs and interests of future generations". Guiding Principle #5 makes the link between wellbeing / living in harmony with nature. This is huge. It takes the idea from 'woo woo' fringe movement to core principle for responsible Government 👉 "A clean, healthy & sustainable environment, where humanity lives in harmony with nature, must be created & maintained by urgently addressing the causes & adverse impacts of climate change & scaling up collective action to promote environmental protection". 🤠 Hat tip to those who've been leading & driving this movement for so long. Some of you no doubt world-weary & a bit knackered from the fight. Take this as a win. 💥 And critically, #Action26 of the #DeclarationOnFutureGenerations calls for #beyondGDP measures of progress in evidence-based impact assessments of development, further entrenching #postgrowth principles as foundational in this pact; 👉 "Strengthening our systems of national & global accounting, including by promoting the use of forward-looking, evidence-based impact assessments, developing stronger anticipatory risk analyses & encouraging the use of measures of progress on sustainable development that complement & go beyond gross domestic product". What is particularly encouraging is that, here in #Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire County Council is ahead of the curve in engaging with & progressing the principles & actions inherent here. #PactForTheFuture linked here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJXb_BnP 🤠Hat tip to progressive thinkers & do-ers at OCC, & the wider Oxfordshire ecosystem already embracing or driving the change. #ChloeTaylor, Jamie Slagel, Emily Urquhart, Robin Rogers, #MartinReeves, Liz Leffman, Cllr Dr Pete Sudbury, Rosie Rowe,Tammy Marrett, Jamie Kavanagh (BA, MBCS, RITTech), Sarah Gilbert, Franco Gonzalez, (et.al!), Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership (OIEP), Future Oxfordshire Partnership. -- Erinch Sahan, Rob, Leonora, Helen, Joel, Lukie, Duncan, Henry Leveson-Gower FRSA, Caitlin Hafferty

We've all got problems in our work right? And yet a problem-solving approach isn't the right way to tackle them. A regenerative approach is. So, what's the difference between the two? That's just one of the things we'll be covering in today's Introduction to Regenerative Organisations webinar at 12.30 UK time. with me and JK (Jennie-Kate) McQuinn. So if you have a problem and want to apply your energy in the right way to move beyond it, then do come along. Bring your lunch and discover a more effective way of leading. There's a replay available too for those that sign up. What's your experience of applying a regenerative approach? What problems have you had with the problem-solving approach? What do you feel are the key differences between the two? Link to sign up: https://lnkd.in/ef9dHS_c #regenerative #regenerativeleadership #problemsolving
