A very personal message due to circumstances (comments of neighbours the way we're treating our livestock, leading twice to a control of the NVWA, with no further actions because everything is fine) at Landgoed Velhorst which I want to share with you. Three things that you must come to accept: 1. Self control is strength and calmness is mastery. You have to get to the point where your mood doesn't shift based on the actions of someone else. Don't allow others to control the direction of your life and don't allow your emotions to overpower your intelligence. 2. Don't be afraid to spend money. You go out and spend €100 on good food and drinks. So what, you had a good time with friends and family. You're time on this planet is a gift, you can always get back money but you can't get back time. 3. In three generations everyone who knows you will be dead. Including the people whose opinions stopped you from doing what you wanted to do. Imagine someone you know achieved every dream and hit every goal. Then some years later they get old and die. Two years after that how much would you care? If you accomplish your dreams and goals do it for yourself 🙏 (author unknown)

FRIDAY’S FOCUS: THE PRESSING IS PRODUCING! “Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:8‬) Grapes like olives cost but are even more valuable when pressed because of what’s inside of them. Today let’s talk about the grapes. There’s two things that you can do with them: (1) nurture them with your hand or (2) crush them under your feet for making wine. The Lord endured His own painful process to grow us into something that would become what He already is. Christ is the person gathering the grapes of our lives, having to reach between our branches to obtain them and risk getting pricked and bruised by the thorns we use to protect ourselves. Simultaneously, He is the person who treads the grapes in the press, getting His feet scarred in the process. Looking at Christ, we should see that He is making wine out of us and His own bruised places because it’s in the crushing vats that the wine of the grapes and the blood of His feet are mixed. He paid a personal cost for our transformation. Likewise, it costs you something to be great – it costs you everything! Regardless of where you find yourself in life, a price was paid to be there. This sounds like a simple truth, but you would be surprised by the number of people who never consider what it cost God to redeem mankind. Jesus was given in exchange for them then to be where they are and be who they are today! Yes! Jesus is the something of extreme value for you and I in order to become the person God has called us to be. Most people don’t realize that pressure can cause producing. The pressing of grapes produces wine; the pressing of olives produce oil; and the pressure on a planted seed produces its harvest. It’s at life’s most pressing times that you’re producing wine, oil or a harvest. Most people don’t realize that when trying times and troubles come—so does the opportunity to produce something of great value. The pressure will produce, and bring it forth. This is why God said that He can work things for our good. There’s a seed of greatness that lives inside of you, but it must be cultivated as He guides you through the various seasons of change. Now it’s in the changes of life—the pressures that the costliest transactions take place. You’re being crushed right now, but there is something of value in you that will come forth as a result of it. So don’t fret neither sweat the process because something good is about to happen in you; through you; and for you! That’s for sure! YOU'RE MAKING WINE!

Worth Reading One day, a farmer’s donkey fell into a well. The poor animal cried loudly for hours while the farmer tried to figure out a way to get him out. Finally, the farmer decided that the donkey was old and the well was dry and needed to be covered anyway; it wasn’t worth pulling the donkey out of the well. He invited all his neighbors to help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to throw dirt into the well. The donkey realized what was happening and cried out loudly. Then, to everyone’s surprise, he quieted down after a few shovelfuls of dirt. The farmer finally looked down into the well and was amazed at what he saw. With each shovelful of dirt, the donkey was doing something incredible: he was shaking off the dirt and stepping on top of it. Very soon, everyone was astonished as the donkey reached the mouth of the well, climbed over the edge, and trotted out. Life is going to throw dirt at you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the hole is to shake it off and use it to step up. Each of our problems is a step up. We can get out of the deepest holes if we don’t give up. Use the dirt thrown at you to get ahead! Remember the 5 rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart from hate. 2. Free your mind from distractions. 3. Simplify your life. 4. Give more and expect less. 5. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, th e donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off! MORAL : Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
