Every year the Dry July Foundation runs a champaign designed to encourages you to go alcohol-free in July to raise funds for people affected by cancer. Join Arterial’s A Team as we Dry July this year for the Pancare Foundation. The funds raised through Dry July will provide invaluable services to cancer patients, their families, and carers. For each $100 donation made, a light bulb will shine in recognition of the chosen honouree at the CancerCare building on McDermot throughout December. 3. You may choose to send an electronic card to the honouree or a printed card which CancerCare Manitoba Foundation will send on your behalf with a message of choice. Odds are you have heard of No-Shave November, but do you know the background beyond the viral movement? According to the official No-Shave November (Matthew Hill Foundation, Inc.) page, "No-Shave November has been a tradition for many years, but in 2009, the Chicago-based Hill family decided to reinvent the activity to raise money for charity. This project held special meaning to the eight Hill children after their father, Matthew Hill, passed away from colon cancer in November 2007." The goal of No-Shave November is relatively simple: donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. With the help of social media, other organizations like Movember have raised millions of dollars for cancer awareness, as well as other men's health issues.
