I recently had the privilege of attending a guest speaker lecture in one of my classes that went beyond the boundaries of education and probed deep into the heart of making a significant difference in the world around us. Our outstanding guest speaker, Jaime de Jaraiz Lozano, CEO of LG Iberia, gave us such an inspiring presentation that made an unforgettable impression on what I always thought. His speech was about his journey to making the earth a better and greener place! 🌏🌱 His commitment to making a positive impact on the world radiated through every word, as he shared the details of his Sustainability 2.0 project. This project, a light of hope in these difficult times, united large companies into one voice for the welfare of our world. What struck me most was not just the scale of the project but the spirit behind it. Beyond the conference rooms and profit margins, his talk emphasized the urgent need for kindness toward our Earth. In an era where ecological concerns loom large, his call to action was such a reminder that we are custodians of the planet, entrusted with the responsibility to nurture and protect it. His dedication to finding affordable solutions reflects his mission: a technology-driven, sustainable future. The central point of his address, however, was a sincere appeal to stay altruistic. In a society obsessed with measurements and bottom lines, Jaime's focus on listening to our feelings and connecting our actions with a greater purpose was a breath of fresh air. It was a challenge to reject the status quo, urging us to be positive change-makers in our areas of influence. As I reflect on his words, I find myself propelled by a newfound motivation. The class wasn't just an ordinary class in marketing; it was an immersion into a world where business and benevolence coexist. My gratitude extends to Professor Víctor Magariño Peñalba for organizing this transformative event that crossed the line between academics and real-world effect, leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone.

Another fantastic read about Sustainability in the events sector by StandOut Magazine (Stand Out Live Events Magazine) The one phrase that stuck out to me was "Small measures but big impact." It resonated deeply with me as we often think that to make a difference, we need to make grand, sweeping changes. However, the reality is that it's the small, incremental steps that truly add up to create significant change. Whether it's reducing single-use plastics, opting for eco-friendly materials, or implementing energy-saving practices, each small measure contributes to a larger, positive impact. At Green Events Company we are constantly introducing a multitude of small changes when and where possible. We know there is still much work to be done but taking a proactive approach to the matter is extremely important to us and is a key factor in the strategic development of the company. It might take a little bit of 'thinking outside of the box' but we like a challenge! To all professionals in the events sector, let's embrace this philosophy. Let's explore innovative ways to integrate sustainability into every aspect of event planning and execution. This group works to provide the corporate perspective on what the new regulations should look like. 🌏 The INC-4 talks in Canada represent a critical point in the global negotiations to secure a binding United Nations Treaty on tackling #plasticpollution. Case in point: Today marks the 26th edition of the German Media Award (Deutscher Mediapreis), where a new category "Green Media" has been introduced this year. However, the jury ultimately surprised everyone by deciding neither to publish a shortlist nor to name a winner. Why? The received submissions were deemed lacking in persuasiveness and genuine commitment to sustainability.
