Creating value by improving service and reducing costs through the application of creative transportation, logistics, and business solutions.
Sadly, more layoffs announced at UPS. This time at a major air hub, Ontario California. The interesting part is the sort that is being eliminated, the sunrise. (generally, 0400-0800) Past layoff announcements at UPS focused on the day sorts (generally, 1200-1600) at ground hubs. The predominant product handled at air hub sunrise sorts is second day air. This product is not broken out in company financials and is included in the “deferred” category. Second day air makes up the vast majority of deferred. As one can see from the graphic for the deferred category for both FedEx and UPS, things do not paint a rosy future. Takeaway: Macroeconomic headwinds, combined with shifting consumer preference for lower cost shipping options, portend continued tough times for the deferred category. #fedex #ups #parcel

Love Island UK taught me something eye-opening. 👀 In our country, we often prioritize traditional jobs as the sole path to earning money and gaining 'respect' from peers. But, as I watched a few episodes of Love Island, I couldn't help but notice a common theme among the participants. Many had tradesman/women professions – lineman, electrical, plumbing, you name it. I love that! In the States, we place a high value on the typical 9-5 job – graduate college, get your degree, work for XYZ company, and earn XYZ pay. That's fine if it aligns with your goals or vision. (and if you have the opportunity to do that) However, in my short journey as an entrepreneur, I've found countless ways to make money and create a living. There are tons of paths to support your family or your lifestyle. - Maybe you work at a retail store part-time, stock vending machines a night, and do some weekend ghostwriting. - Or perhaps you're a lineman who thrives working outdoors with your hands and DoorDash on your off days. - Some own businesses like trailer parks that support local communities. Whatever path you choose to make money and sustain your life is yours to own. Remember, haters are just confused fans. 𝐏𝐒: Fun fact – I'm a big fan of reality dating shows. 🤷🏼♂️ 👌🏼

#Layoffs are expected to continue... Businesses will be more concerned about their balance sheets and shareholders. In reality It takes time to renegotiate prices and contracts with suppliers and contractors and businesses might not be able to re-balance their balance sheet in time for re-valuation. Sadly, the fastest way to reduce the expenses quickly on the balance sheet is to reduce manpower costs. We have to understand the direct effects of rising 10-20yr #Treasury #Yields on refinancing costs of mortgages and businesses. This actively forces businesses that are caught off guard to re-evaluate their financial situation instantly. Start positioning ourselves personally and financially to avoid risks that could set us up for unforeseeable shocks... 🔸 Due diligence about your employer's financial situation. 🔸 Be very clear about your own personal finances. 🔸 Always have a Plan B, C, D... 🔸 Diversify your income. 🔸 Diversify your savings. 🔸 Diversify your investments. Supplementary Information: ================================== Layoffs Tracker: https://lnkd.in/eH4Y5yth ================================== P.S. Chloe Shih I had to share your YouTube reel to prove my point. The emotions were so raw.

Proof that those in the advertising & media industry remain optimists. A majority of people who work in media/marketing/advertising/PR or sales show confidence they will retain their roles over the next year and over a third (35%) expect the level of business activity at their place of work to be higher in a year from now.
In addition to the well-documented layoffs in the tech industry, other sectors including advertising agencies and media networks have also implemented workforce reductions. The impact of these job cuts extends beyond the technology sector, reflecting a broader trend in various industries. 👉 What level of certainty do Britons working in media, marketing, advertising, PR or sales industries in Britain have regarding potential job layoffs within the upcoming year? https://okt.to/4ivPKl
