Meet the Budapest Team: Aurelio Picon Lopez - Lead Advance Cyber Defense Analyst

Tell us a little bit about your career history so far!

My IT career started with Citi where I have been at various technology functions from helpdesk through encryption to external connectivity management. At the moment, I am part of the Advance Cyber Defense Team of the Security Operation Centre.

Why did you decide to join Citi?

Back when I had just landed in Hungary, I was looking for an international company with a great reputation to start my technical career. As Citi’s technology team was already expanding at the time and the company fit perfectly to what I was looking for, I was happy to join the Budapest team.

What is your role at Citi?

I am currently a lead threat hunter in the Advance Cyber Defense team as part of the Security Operation Centre (SOC).

This centre consists of the top tier teams that lead the cyber defense of the corporation by tracking advanced persistent threats and making sure Citi’s defenses are ready for the current and future cybersecurity landscape.

What do you enjoy most about Citi?

At Citi, I have a great career development path, awesome multicultural colleagues to work with and exposure to experiences and information that would be difficult to get anywhere else.
