Releasing the Arctic Foundation, a catalyst for sustainable talks, education and empowerment

Early in 2023, we, at Arctic , launched the Arctic Foundation, an NGO that aims to take sustainability education one step further and serve as a catalyst for sustainable development topics.  

The starting point of our initiative has been a study conducted in collaboration with Ipsos in Romania , the global market research leader, that aimed to explore the needs, expectations, and challenges of Romanians regarding adopting a sustainable lifestyle. According to the results, 80% of Romanians would be willing to do more for sustainability if they had access to more information on the topic. 52% of those surveyed said they want to learn more and do more for sustainability, while 28% need more details and to do a little bit more. Only 2% of respondents said they weren't interested in the subject or didn't take any action for sustainability.

The study provides valuable insights into the current state of sustainability awareness and practices in Romania and highlights some of the challenges and opportunities for promoting sustainability education and behavior.

Our esteemed CEO Murat Buyukerk Büyükerk and I, as Marketing and Product Management Director at Arctic, sit in the board of the Arctic Foundation, together with Virginia Otel , Corporate Communication Director of Garanti BBVA Romania, Ruxandra Mercea , the founder of the School of Trust, and Ionuț Dună the Head of Indirect Sales at Enel Romania. We had on our side a supportive, passionate, and devoted group of volunteers.
