TECH WEEK by a16z – What a Day! 🔥 Hosting PAYZE (YC S21) fintech event at the Georgian Consulate San Francisco in SF was unforgettable. I’ll admit, I had some real nerves going into it—organizing an event across the world felt like a big leap. When people actually started showing up (more than expected!), I found myself thinking, “Will this resonate with everyone?” Imposter syndrome was real. But the crowd’s energy and vibes were something else. My good friend Pedro Santos Vieira of 500 Global shared powerful insights, emphasizing that emerging markets don’t lack talent—they lack access to the knowledge of experience of scaling and funding, something 500 Eurasia is helping bridge. It was great to have Parthi Duraisamy Founder of Alaan who talked about the unique challenge of educating not only users and regulators about the product, but also western investors on the massive TAM potential in these regions.
