India has recently relaxed foreign direct investment (FDI) norms in the space sector. This policy, designed to strengthen India's position as a global space leader, had a significant impact on this year’s Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2024. The 8th edition of the Bengaluru Space Expo 2024 held at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre from September 18-20 and our colleague Rupal Sheth participated in the event and had the chance to connect with industry experts, diplomats, and delegates from across the globe. With the presence of diverse delegations, notable companies and country sessions the event showcased the global landscape of the space sector and India's growing role as a hub for New Space companies. They also outlined key government initiatives supporting space tech growth, including the Elevate programme and synergistic policies. It has been an extremely busy couple of weeks for SABRN! Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2024 as part of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) delegation—always a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with good friends like the teams at Lloyd Jacob Lopez from HEX20, Jibin Jeffrey Dhanaraj from ResearchSat, Rajat Kulshrestha from Space Machines Company, and many more. I also had the chance to hang out with the great Steve Waugh for a bit and visit TARDID Technologies Pvt Ltd to build future collaboration opportunities. From there, it was a whirlwind trip to Delhi, where I met up with key collaborators for the development of our SABRN LifePod prototype, including Mr SD Chandra from ARMAAN MACHINERY & ENGINEERING PRIVATE LIMITED, Abhishek Mitra, and @Air Marshall (Ret) Keshav Rao. Immediately after, it was off to Brisbane to participate in the 45th ICMM – World Congress on Military Medicine. I had the opportunity to hear from some amazing speakers, including Major General Tim Hodgetts, Chair of the Committee of Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO. The discussions were invaluable, and the insights shared will undoubtedly influence the future of military medical care, from operational medicine to the role of cutting-edge technologies. The event was truly a highlight. Finally, I wrapped up in Melbourne, with Esther Oh and the Agili8 team at the Defence Test and Evaluation Conference 2024. It’s exciting to see how innovative technologies and partnerships are shaping the future of defence. Looking forward to the continued momentum!

Team Grahaa Space was part of the Australia-India Space Industry Round Table at the recently concluded Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2024. We have been invited for a closed group discussion hosted by the Australian Space Agency, Australian High Commission, New Delhi, and IN-SPACe alongside key dignitaries from both the Indian and Australian spacetech startup ecosystems.
