Last week we hosted out first Climate and Energy Summit designed to focus on multi-stakeholder collaboration for increased ambition and impact in climate action and the energy transition in the lead-up to COP30. Over the course of two days, we welcomed 70 speakers for keynotes, panel discussions, Chatham House Rule roundtables and our dynamic TexFactor session. We also hosted an exhibition by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew exploring how to build resilience through nature. Day 1 of the Summit focussed on climate topics including shifting geopolitics of resilience and rivalry for climate action and the energy transition, adaptation strategies for cascading climate risks, the food-water nexus, innovation and the bioeconomies of the future, climate finance and the business of resilience. We were delighted to be joined by Ana Toni, Chief Executive of COP30 and Rachel Kyte, UK Special Representative for Climate for the Summit’s opening address. Day 2 tackled energy focussed topics, including accelerating the energy transition, critical materials, insights from Africa to guide the just transition, unlocking private finance and energy security as a national security concern. Thank you to our sponsors Jacobs, Oaklin, Teck Resources Limited and Wärtsilä for making the event possible, plus our media partners Asia Society, Climate Group, Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), Global Legal Group, Journal of Biophilic Design, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Planet Mark for their support.
