At CWS Indianapolis, our caseworkers provide crucial support and psychoeducation to unaccompanied children and their sponsors during the first six months of their adjustment period. Building safe, stable developmental relationships within the household helps children feel secure and supported as they navigate immigration grief, traumatic experiences, and other challenges. Thanks to the generosity of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, we offer free mental health counseling with a bilingual, licensed therapist specializing in trauma. This vital support helps children begin their healing journey and build resilience, preventing risk factors like depression, suicidal ideation, and more.
