We’re celebrating another year of impactful collaboration! Since our start in 2020, we have worked on projects to advance high-quality, patient-centered, and equitable health care. Our intellectual pillars – #ImplementationScience, #Informatics, and #PCOR – serve as the guiding force behind three years of transformative initiatives at the Health Implementation Science Center. In 2023, we engaged an expansive group of over 30 experts to conduct patient-focused #research and worked closely with clients among the country’s most forward-thinking organizations to drive innovation in health care delivery. A new report from AHRQ's Clinical Decision Support Innovation Collaborative (#CDSiC) describes findings from a prioritization activity focused on understanding what patient health journey measures are important to patients for assessing patient-centered clinical decision support (#PCCDS). Partnerships between health care providers and community-based organizations (CBOs) can be complex to navigate, yet these collaborations are essential for effectively addressing health-related social needs (HRSN). To help strengthen these complex cross-sector partnerships, the ROI Calculator was developed by the Commonwealth Fund to assist CBOs and their health care partners in designing financial arrangements to effectively fund social services for people with complex needs. AHRQ's Clinical Decision Support Innovation Collaborative (#CDSiC) recently published an inventory that outlines patient preference measurement tools used in clinical settings. An accompanying report highlights gaps in the current practice for eliciting and measuring patient preferences relevant to #PCCDS and future areas for research.
