    At yesterday's Sales Connect in #London, I gave sales leaders a peek into my life as a social data scientist at LinkedIn. Together, we unpacked the data and laughed that zero sellers in the room felt confident about being "future-ready." 😂 But by the end of the talk, there was an optimism that sellers are indeed learning, and leaning into, the power and potential of AI to unlock more hours to do the thing their teams love the most -- selling. I want to thank Orla Walton for giving the Insights team an opportunity to speak about the beautiful data that we have at LinkedIn -- and to be working again with the incredible EMEA team Bruna, Dan, Thessa, Andrew, Dania -- you guys rock!     There’s no doubt about it: sales in a human-centric profession. But that doesn’t mean that AI can’t take on parts of sellers’ day-to-day tasks. According to Karin Kimbrough, Chief Economist at LinkedIn, generative AI will be able to help sellers with ongoing tasks like account research, CRM updates, and sales prospecting. Not to do your job for you, but to free up you and your team to spend more time on what really matters.     It was fantastic attending LinkedIn’s #SalesConnect24 event in #London yesterday. The client panel featuring Ronnie Abraham Samantha Stephens Margarete McGrath and Sinéad McCabe moderating was beyond insightful on key #Sales themes and how best to use #AI. Some of my key takeaways were: - Make sure your #Data is as comprehensive as possible as it underpins the whole sales journey - Invest in #Technology and systems to integrate your data to produce insights for your teams to have valuable human conversations with clients - Embrace AI technologies to make your team more efficient to pulling together information and automate where you can - Be an advocate to AI solutions - use the tools available and demonstrate this with your teams It was also great to see many familiar faces and make many new contacts across the sales industry.     Fun to be on the other side of table attending LinkedIn’s Sales Connect 2024 as a customer! Enjoyed seeing familiar faces and gathering with fellow revenue leaders to explore profitable growth in today’s evolving landscape. Always love a good learning opportunity and a chance to hear the latest research on macro trends from Karin Kimbrough. And like any good 2024 conference, a lot of the discussion focused on the role of AI in sales. 🗒 Key takeaways from the event: (enhanced by AI? you be the judge) - 2025 is looking to be a "pretty good" year (let's hope!) - AI is set to revolutionize sales, enhancing productivity rather than replacing humans. - Developing an AI Strategy is important, but focusing on your "AI wins for the next 6mo" will be most helpful in this rapidly evolving landscape. - Platform fatigue is real. Every sales tool is now AI powered (good) with many fighting to be your rep's "home base" (they can't all be). Consolidation and understanding how sales tools can work together effectively will be needed. - Building AI skills is critical for sellers and RevOps to maximize tool usage. - Data quality is paramount for AI effectiveness; investing in data foundations and using AI to automate data collection is key. Excited about the future of AI in sales and for now, navigating the noise towards achieving some AI wins.

    On the train back from London after an incredible LinkedIn Sales Connect 2024 event. Wow, what an eye-opener about becoming "future ready" in sales! A few things that blew my mind: - AI could potentially reduce administrative tasks by 12 hours a week! That's 12 extra hours to spend actually talking to customers and building relationships.
