Meet Michael Dunbar, our Global Finance Director! Michael first joined PPG in 2014, working on the Corporate Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. He then joined PPG’s Industrial Coatings business as a Financial Services Manager and worked on-site at PPG’s Springdale, PA plant before moving to Wisconsin to work as a Financial Services Regional Manager for Industrial Coatings at PPG's Oak Creek, WI plant. Michael relocated back to Pittsburgh, PA in 2020 to establish the finance function for the Global Industrial Segment Operations team. In 2023, he joined PPG’s Traffic Solutions business as the Finance Director, USCA, before joining PPG’s Packaging Coatings business in 2024.    We asked Michael three questions to get to know him better, and this is what he had to say: ❓ Do you have any interesting hobbies? 📝 I often spend my free time with my family, working out, playing golf, or supporting my favorite teams (Indiana, Notre Dame, the Pirates, and the Steelers). ❓What do you love most about PPG? 📝 I love the variety of experiences available to us as employees. PPG has multiple global businesses, end markets, products, and functions to explore. It’s a fantastic place for career development and for meeting people from all around the world. ❓What is one of your proudest accomplishments, either professionally or personally? 📝 My sport of choice growing up was running. I ran two marathons in 2012. I’ve since retired from long distances but still enjoy getting out occasionally on the weekends.

What a day! Here are some highlights from Global Recycling Day last week: ♻️ At the Environmental Charter School (ECS) Pep Rally, PPG's Melissa MacDonald shared fun facts about our coatings. Did you know that coatings have the same thickness as one strand of hair? The students loved learning this and other fun facts from the pep rally speakers. ♻️ Iceburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins mascot, sat with the students during presentations to learn about how a can is made and recycled before showing off his dance moves. ♻️ After taking the recycling pledge, the second-grade students were eager to participate in our trivia and asked some really smart questions. They also sported Global Recycling Day t-shirts that PPG donated to them to help make the celebration even more official! ♻️ PPG participated in the 2nd annual Penguins Pledge Sustainability panel, presented by United States Steel Corporation to learn about sustainability initiatives taking place at EQT Corporation, WM and the National Aviary. ♻️ After the panel, our team cheered on the Pens, our hometown NHL team, at the game! Yesterday on Global Recycling Day, we spent the morning with our partners and the amazing second graders at Environmental Charter School (ECS).    Thank you to the staff and students at ECS for having us and taking the time to learn about the lifecycle of a can and why aluminum recycling is so important! As part of the #2MillionCans recycling contest, PPG is helping the Environmental Charter School (ECS) collect and recycle aluminum cans. To help remind and inspire PPG employees to recycle their cans, ECS second graders created some fun artwork to place on top of the recycling bins stationed around the Pittsburgh offices.
