I have expertise in most sub-types of addiction treatment including(but not limited to): treatment for alcohol or drug dependence, sexual addictions, and gambling addictions. I am licensed to prescribe Suboxone (a tremendous advancement in the treatment of addiction to opiates).

I am board certified as both a psychiatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. My focus is to improve the mental health status of the individual, family and community through emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, by focusing on self-responsibility, education and treatment. I am a graduate of Michigan State University, Rush University in Chicago and Oakland University in Rochester, MI. I am an experienced nurse practitioner having a passion for working with children, adolescents and young adults. I have been a family nurse practitioner for 22 years and psychiatric provider for 14 years.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years of experience in the field. I am currently accepting new patients and have immediate openings. My expertise lies in mental health across the lifespan, specifically in addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and OCD. Committed to eliminating mental health stigma, my primary goal is to guide patients toward remission, emphasizing mental health as an integral part of overall well-being.

I am a part of the New Oakland Family Centers team and we all aim to serve any individual or family with mental health needs. I have three children, two of which have cognitive impairments and Autism, so I can relate to anyone with family members that have special needs! We also help many in the community to navigate anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD/ADD), conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, mood dysregulation disorder, substance abuse, insomnia, and eating disorders just to name a few. I was born in Michigan and have resided here for most of my life. I attended Wayne State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and obtained my medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. I completed an Adult Psychiatry Residency at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, OH followed by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship also at the Medical College of Ohio. I especially love working with children, adolescents, and their families. I am also a wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

Dr. Ahmed, a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, brings many years of experience in treating a broad range of mental illnesses. Taylor is a graduate of the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Detroit Mercy. Taylor was a collegiate athlete competing in Track & Field while majoring in Biology. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology and then went on to the finish his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Taylor has worked all over Southeast Michigan providing care to individuals of all social backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. He specializes in adult psychiatry offering psychiatric evaluations as well as psychotropic medication treatment and management.

I am looking to provide care in a caring, Christian atmosphere for patients who sincerely desire to optimize their functioning status in life through the utilization of psychiatric medication services combined with psychotherapy services. I work with the patient and their family/friends to provide education regarding current psychiatric diagnoses and symptomology, available psychiatric medications to address current symptoms, and the various therapy options at Renewal Christian Counseling Center in order to partner with the patient in developing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Dr. Hillard is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He has been Professor of Psychiatry at MSU, CMU, and University of Cincinnati. At UC, he was Chair of the Department of Psychiatry for 18 years. At MSU, he was Associate Provost for Human Health. He has published two books and over 100 papers on a wide range of psychiatric topics. He survived metastatic stomach cancer diagnosed in 2010 and is one of the 100 Stories of Hope for the 110th Anniversary of the American Cancer Society. He combines kindness and a sense of humor with wide ranging medical expertise.

Dr. Iyantta S. Howell is a double board-certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist in Michigan who has been practicing since 2008. She obtained her bachelor's degree from The University of Michigan and obtained her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training at The University of Pennsylvania's Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Howell has experience working in a variety of clinical environments, including inpatient and outpatient settings, prisons, residential treatment facilities, and partial hospital programs.
