“There’s something wrong with me.” It doesn’t matter how good things get – these thoughts are always lurking in the back of your mind. All the good you do and all the positive things you achieve in your life are never enough for you to feel accomplished. The deeper you sink into these feelings, the more alienated you become. Life feels hopeless and you’re on the verge of resigning to living with that uneasy ball in the pit of your stomach. Your baseline is a constant state of emotional duck-and-cover. It’s exhausting. It’s discouraging. It’s isolating. And worst of all, you can’t seem to make it stop.

I believe that people want and deserve to have happiness in their lives and I am committed to helping them reach that state. I am most interested in providing counseling/therapy for individuals who are ready to do the work required to make positive changes.

I bring exceptional training and over twenty years of experience serving my clients. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and seniors. I have worked with a wide variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. Together we can work to help equip you with the necessary tools to help you face and overcome your challenges. My name is Melissa Moxlow Swan. I am a lifelong Alaskan who attended school outside of the state of Alaska while completing my bachelors degree at Gonzaga University. I completed my masters degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2014. I worked at a local agency here in Anchorage to support youth and their families at a residential treatment program. I then transitioned to working with active duty service members and their families and have found that work to be extremely rewarding. I completed my professional licensure in 2017 and became a clinical supervisor in 2021.
