I specialize in grief, trauma, relationships, LGBTQI+, Maternal Mental Health, Infertility, and more. I do believe my clients are the experts of their lives and the concerns they are experiencing. As the former LGBT Center Director, I have experience working with individuals, families, and couples and have assisted many in the transitioning process. I can assist with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, negative thoughts, illness, loss and letting go of old patterns that no longer fit. I am a clinical psychologist working with adults experiencing depression and anxiety, with specialized training in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have a strong interest in Women's Health with a focus on pregnancy, the postpartum period and infertility. I value assisting women and their partners as they journey through these intense life events.

I have been working with families in one capacity or another since 1978. I work in an open and affirming, creative and analytic manner to individualize therapy to the needs of my clients. Most of my clients experience relief within weeks of beginning therapy. Depending on the depth of the issues presented therapy can last a few months to a few years. Trust is the foundation and insight the main tool to create positive and long lasting change. I work with my clients to find what is best for them and support them in making the changes they want.

I provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling services. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Education specialized in counseling, a National Certified Counselor licensed in the state of Georgia, and a member of the American Counseling Association.

I am a local therapist in the Atlanta area. I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Mississippi State University. I began my journey of helping others and advocating for disenfranchised families at that time. After practicing social work for six years, I saw an even greater need with individuals suffering with mental health issues. I then returned to college and earned a Master's in Mental health Counseling degree, which I received from Capella University. I then began working with a diverse population within a therapeutic arena, to combat, cope with, and extinguish a wide variety of mental health issues.

Counseling services focus on helping families and individuals build skills that increase healthy behaviors and foster resiliency. Symptoms and challenges are addressed using a CBT, DBT, Adlerian, and/or a client centered ‘strengths and solutions’ based approach. Emphasis in sessions include gaining awareness of negative self-talk and habits, learning tools to change behaviors, and rewriting new scripts that illuminate strengths, acceptance, and self-discipline. Sand Tray techniques and Play Therapy are additional approaches to help clients process emotions and progress in their goals.
