Shona Marie Dabrowski is a New Orleans native who earned her Bachelor degree from the University of New Orleans. Shona received her Master's in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans and is now a LCSW. Mrs. Dabrowski has several years of experience working with various populations and age groups. My approach toward counseling is to treat each individual based on where they are and meet them where they are comfortable. I have an existential-humanistic approach where I help my clients look beyond their immediate situation and look at how they may have gotten to this issue and where do they want to go from here. As a young adult. I experienced challenges with establishing my self-confidence which is an area that I am aware many have difficulties. I am an LPC and obtained my MA from Liberty University. As a former educator and children's minister, I gained extensive experience counseling children, adolescents, individuals and families. I have found Play Therapy techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR to be especially helpful to my clients. Besides my calling to help others and spending time with my family, it is my relationship with God that gives me the greatest joy. I feel blessed and privileged to assist others on their journey to mental and emotional healing.
