My goal as a therapist is to allow my clients a non-judgmental space where they can feel safe to express themselves, work through trauma, address their mental health, relationships and substance use. I want my clients to feel empowered to change their own lives and have the support and skills to be successful. I am a strength-based therapist who uses cognitive behavior therapy, DBT, motivational interviewing and solutioned focused therapy to help clients meet their goals. I accept most major insurance plans, probation vouchers and Medicaid.

I have been providing outpatient therapy services since 2006 in the Kearney area. I currently hold licensure as a mental health practitioner and am also on the State Provider List to provide substance abuse evaluations. I am able to provide individual and family therapy as well as substance abuse evaluations. I specialize in working with adolescent individuals or families of adolescents struggling with behavioral issues (defiance) in home or school. I also provide treatment for anxiety, relationship issues, depression, and other mental health issues. ​

I work with individuals/couples on relationship and sexual issues. Sexual and emotional satisfaction is nearly inseparable for both men and women! The defensiveness that damages relationships is often the same behavior that controls vulnerability and intimacy in the bedroom. Simple awareness of learned beliefs or unhelpful fears can create the space a healthy couple needs to heal. Sex and emotional connection shouldn't wait on the backburner until life gives us a break - emotional and sexual expression should mirror life! If that sounds challenging, remember, I don't suggest anyone to do anything they do not want to do!

I love children, and especially appreciate the opportunity to work with young children and their parents. I believe that when a child is struggling with some type of emotional or behavioral issue, it is important for them to have a safe place to discuss their concerns and feel that they have someone "on their side." My office is filled with toys and art projects to help any child feel safe and comfortable.

I help older teens and adults reprocess and distance the pains of past hurts and traumas. Clients who engage in therapy with me are tired of big emotions jumbling up their life and are tired of memories stealing their precious moments of time. Clients are able to reprocess painful and traumatic memories and start living life again without the sting of those troubling memories.

People are often times are searching for ways to change their lives, find greater happiness, or improve their relationships. No matter what the reason for seeking counseling, I believe we all have the power to overcome our life obstacles. It takes a tremendous amount of strength and courage to reach out for support with vulnerable areas in life, and I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment to assist client's on their journey. My compassionate, direct, and collaborative style helps clients to feel comfortable and supported through their path of counseling.

My focus is to come along side those who are hurting. I see each person as a miracle in the making. Focusing on the four dimensions of life - mental, physical, emotional and spiritual, I strive to help each client find balance. I desire to be a journey mate and problem solver. Using faith-based insight and a variety of effective counseling skills, I help my clients as they work to reach their full potential.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing a variety of mental health assessment and therapy services. I provide individual therapy for adults, and have particular expertise in areas of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as chronic pain. I am a proponent of cognitive-behavioral therapy, and believe patients need to be willing to put in effort and work to improve. I also have specialized education and training which enables me to be proficient in conducting forensic psychological evaluations

Our self-doubt, critical voice, feeling not good enough and unhealthy relationships all get in the way of achieving this. I feel many of our current struggles are rooted in childhood stemming from our early attachments and the roles we have fallen into. To heal from within involves not only becoming aware of our unconscious attachment patterns but also courageously facing underlying emotions uncovered via the safe, vital therapeutic relationship.

I believe that people can transform, weather the storms of life, and gain tools and insights to help them do so.
