Helping others has always been Amy’s passion in life, for 26 years, she has dedicated herself to the mission of being a patient advocate. Her career in nursing led to her advocacy in the mental health field. Amy’s approach is helping you reach your goals, addressing any stuck patterns, and creating how you want to live. She provides an environment that is safe and supportive, while establishing trust with you as you move at your pace. She believes that you are the expert of your own life and have all of the internal resources to heal.

Jennifer is an experienced therapist who values your individuality and confidentiality. She believes you have worth and deserve a life filled with love and understanding. Jennifer is experienced with diverse backgrounds and will provide you a safe place to discover your own pace for healing and growth. Jennifer Yarns specializes in addressing alcohol and drug issues and is knowledgeable and experienced with issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationships. She works with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues and provides services ranging from individual to group and mental health, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis.

I strive to understand people in all of their complexity. My goal in therapy is to see through a client’s lens as much as possible, and then work with them to find positive changes they can make in their lives. Drawing heavily from the evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model (ACT), I help clients to be more mindful of the interface between their internal and external experiences. When we become more aware of the patterns in our thoughts, emotions, and actions, we can be intentional about releasing what is not helpful to us.

Life is a journey. How often have you heard that? As we find our road through life, we all need inspiration and guidance. Having an outside perspective to navigate that journey can help us view our path through a different lens. It is my goal as your therapist to create a safe, supportive, and accepting environment for you to share your story. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for therapy. My favorite thing about being a Mental Health Counselor is that I have a front row seat to witness the life change and healing that can take place in the therapeutic environment. Seeking counseling is a brave step and I enjoy coming alongside my clients and to help them find the tools in order to empower themselves toward their desired growth. My approach is supportive, compassionate and collaborative. Building trust is imperative to yielding results in therapy!
