I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in practice for over 10 years. I completed my Clinical Internship and Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/John Hopkins University School of Medicine, and prior to that, received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am passionate about working with children, teens, adults, and families experiencing a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and interpersonal issues. My approach is collaborative, research-informed, and is designed to meet the unique needs of clients.

Hello, my name is Jean Ramsey and I look forward to working with you. Through my training and struggles in my own life, I have learned compassion and practical ways to help others deal effectively with change and develop resiliency. In my over 20 years as a counselor, I have been fortunate to work with many different ages, cultures and life issues. I have experience working with people dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, parenting and relationship issues as well as work and life dissatisfaction among other issues.

As an art psycho-therapist, I conduct a private practice utilizing the creative arts. In a collaborative venue, I serve children, adults, and families, focusing on an inquiry that unpacks the many potential ancestral gifts, talents, and/or current narratives that are challenging the weary client or family. Facilitating the transformation of harmful personal or familial patterns demands empathy and therapeutic skill; such patterns may be brought forward within a variety of unique life span experiences, growth opportunities or demanding transitions.

CPTSD, Religious & Spiritual Abuse/Trauma & Dissociation: I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist & CIT, working with C-PTSD, Complicated Grief, Dissociation & Parts work, Relational Trauma Rupture & Post-Traumatic Spirituality Renewal. Brainspotting is a neuro-experiential model of therapy that accesses stored trauma in our brain & body through relevant eye positions. We use Focused Mindfulness to identify, process & resolve stored trauma. I provide other neuro-somatic (brain-body) Trauma Therapies including: Somatic-Attachment, Mindfulness & Integrative Parts work, informed by Internal Family Systems and a Transpersonal lens.
