Accepting new clients! Depression and anxiety in modern life can leave us feeling fragmented and lonely. Life as a queer person facing adverse religious messaging or feelings of anxiety around climate change can feel especially isolating in a southern context. I work with individual adults seeking support for religious trauma, faith transition, queer identity/life, climate anxiety/depression, and high sensitivity. I also work with general issues and use a variety of holistic approaches including internal family systems and EMDR to catalyze deep and lasting healing.

My name is Danielle and I use she/her pronouns. I am an LCSW, currently living in Columbia, South Carolina. However, I currently offer therapeutic services in both North and South Carolina. Raised in Florida and relocating to the Carolinas, I have had the opportunity to provide therapy in many different settings since 2011. I have worked in foster care, school settings, and houseless services.

I strive to bring a compelling blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern, and action to the counseling process to maximize outcomes and provide genuine healing and wholeness. During the therapy process, I assist clients in discovering their strengths, building a support system, and developing a healthy lifestyle to set the foundation for life success.

As your therapist, I hope to help you experience long lasting relief and healing. Through our work together, you will learn to develop a relationship with your thoughts and emotions rather than trying to control or push them away, how to change the way you cope with and handle stressors, and how to unpack how your life experiences, family dynamics, and relationships have affected your sense of self, emotional health and ability to feel as though you have choice in your life.

I received my LPC in 2015 and my LPCS in 2019. I am trained in EMDR and play therapy. I continue to seek different ways to help my clients and to grow as a therapist. In addition to counseling, I am looking to help others in their career in counseling with supervision.

My hope is that whatever your reason for considering counseling, you know that there is a place you can come to be heard without judgement. If you have never seen a counselor or are looking for a new counselor I know it can be intimidating and it takes courage to make the first appointment. I respect the relationships I build with clients and I value the story of everyone I meet. There is a lot going on in our world right now. My ideal client is an adult who is stuck in a negative pattern in their life and needs some help getting "unstuck." These negative patterns can show up as addictions, PTSD, unhappy relationships, depression, insomnia, abusive relationships and work problems, among others. I have a passion for working with addiction, especially sex addiction in all aspects. This includes helping clients find sobriety, making new and healthy connections, and dealing with the root causes of addiction.

North Dupuis is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia who has been practicing since 2020. North meets clients wherever they are when facing any life's challenges with a warm and non-judgmental approach. Outside of work, North enjoys movie going, reading, spending time with friends, family and beloved pets, museums, cooking and shopping.

Hello and thank you for visiting. All of us experience periods of difficulty at some time in our lives and discussing it with an objective listener can be of great help. I have over 15 years experience working in the field of mental health. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families and have experience addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, stress management, grief, and difficulties in relationships. I also have experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages. I am also certified in perinatal mental health and enjoy working with women during pregnancy and postpartum.

Do you feel like everyone else was given a rule book to life but you didn’t get one? Things that other people find easy, like making friends and getting a job, feel impossible to you. You’re trying to do your best but your anxiety and depression gets in the way. You don’t have to feel this way. You can learn to embrace yourself and create a life you are excited to live. It is possible to find your place in this world. You can learn to accept yourself and use your strengths to your advantage. You can learn to process negative thoughts and beliefs, and tackle the anxiety that’s holding you back.

I find importance in every person's story and what has shaped them into the person they are today. I want to help my clients identify the parts of their story that have impacted them the most and which parts they feel have held them back or hurt them. I want to then find a path forward where the client and I can work together to accept, understand, or get a better handle on those parts.
