I enjoy working with individuals that struggle with racial injustices, discrimination, co-occurring issues, identity/sexuality concerns/barriers, relationship issues/problems, substance abuse/use/addiction issues, LGBT related concerns, and add/adhd. I have varied experience with working with families, couples and individuals (both children and adults). Individuals who desire change and will put in the work for it to be different ... you are looking for me.We are currently offering FREE therapeutic services to military members, veterans.

I work with couples who desire to use the Gottman Method to improve their marriages. I will equip you and your spouse to better your communication and conflict resolution patterns, enhance your friendship and cultivate a sense shared meaning with one another.

I have a passion for treating clients motivated in overcoming symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders (utilizing the Health At Every Size and All Foods Fit approach). While therapy isn't always easy, I like to take a friendly and casual, yet professional approach to our therapeutic relationship. I want your experience in therapy to be a positive one. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy providing individual, couple, and family therapy in McLean, Virginia. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Johns Hopkins University, and my Master's degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland. I am currently a candidate in training to become a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist. Children who benefit from my services exhibit a very broad range of challenges, including ADHD-related impulsivity and hyperactivity, aggression, oppositionality, "attitude", anxiety, ASD-related social skills deficits and challenges, enuresis, encopresis, and sleeping issues - just to name a few.

My career background before pursuing a Master of Arts in counseling was as an RN and then as executive director of a nonprofit women's ministry focused on eating disorders and other co-existing conditions. When assessing a client I try to take in the whole person: body, mind, and spirit, considering how each of these components is impacting the others. If a client chooses, I am willing to incorporate Christian faith-based counseling, in addition to a mix of therapeutic approaches. I also provide couples and family counseling. I have been married for 37 years and we have three grown children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 doodle-pups.

Welcome to my page! I am NOT accepting new counseling clients. However, I have a staff of 20 or so counselors, 2 life coaches, 2 somatic practitioners that are frequently taking new clients. As the practice owner, I'm now focused on managing the practice. I do offer Inner Healing prayer sessions based on the Bethel Sozo Model for $140, 1 1/2 sessions.
