One of Beautiful Gate South Africa’s biggest mission is showcasing the impact of God in changing circumstances, restoring hope and re-igniting a sense of community. We are on a quest to share these stories with the world, especially young people so that they too can be disciples of God’s mercy and love across nations. In our first 2025 devotion we were joined by 18 Comparative Religious Studies students from Taylor University who got to worship, learn about the history of Beautiful Gate SA and it’s future plans in Lower Crossroads and surrounding areas. This was such a delightful exchange. We also got to share our African cuisine; samp, cabbage and chicken from the Crossroads Cafe (onsite). We look forward to another year of impact and great connections. Commemorating World AIDS Day Our final devotion for 2024, and we choose to honour those infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. During this session, our Child Health Programme also educated members of staff on the importance of protecting themselves and their unborn babies (especially infected mothers). How did you or your organisation spend World AIDS Day?

Day 4 of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women & Children On the 25th of November, Beautiful Gate South Africa in collaboration with the Department of Social Development had a walk in Phillippi to raise awareness about gender based violence. Joined by various stakeholders and our beneficiaries. Along the route we were hooted by passing vehicles and we distributed pamphlets with help line numbers of organisations assisting with gender based violence cases. Lastly we had a demonstration outside Philippi East Police Station to urge for an urgent attention for gender based violence cases. We made news While crime continues to be a significant concern in Philippi and surrounding areas. We have seen some shifts over time. However we recognise that the major improvement will require all stakeholders in these communities to join forces. During our prayer service in collaboration with government, community pastors and various stakeholders we set clear intentions for the communities we wish for. On this day we were shown statistics of crime from the perspective of the Department of Health, Community Safety led by Minister anroux marais and police led by Station Commander Colonel Mandlana from Philippi East Police Station. We are extremely grateful to the pastors who are walking this journey with us. As we have all agreed, this is spiritual war. We had the wonderful pleasure of hosting the Crime-Focused Prayer last Thursday. We were joined by Minister for the Western Cape Department of Community Safety and Police Oversight Anroux Marais, Philippi East Station Commander Colonel Mandlana as well as representatives from the Western Cape Religious Advisory Council. The day involved times of prayer, preaching and insights from the different stakeholders including crime statistics in the area. The stakeholders collectively committed to end the surge of crime. We would like to give glory to God for this full circle moment. Since the 5th of August Beautiful Gate South Africa has engaged with different stakeholders about the safety of our community. As a result pastors from local churches came together last Sunday to pray and bless the crime-focused prayer service happening today.
