Minister Hlabisa Appoints Pearl Maseko-Binqose as a Media Liaison Officer and a Spokesperson The Minister of Departments: Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Velenkosini Hlabisa, has appointed Ms Pearl Maseko-Binqose as his Media Liaison Officer and Spokesperson, effective 1 November 2024. As a seasoned media and communications specialist, Ms Maseko-Binqose brings extensive experience to the role, which will aid her in performing the required tasks. She joins CoGTA from the SABC, where she served as a Programme Manager at Ukhozi FM. Previously, she worked for the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa as an audio-visual communications specialist. Ms Maseko-Binqose holds a Master of Arts degree with a specialisation in Media and Communication from Kingston University (London), a Bachelor of Social Science Honours degree in Development Studies from the University of Fort Hare, a National Diploma in Video Technology (Television Studies) from the Durban University of Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education and Training from the University of Fort Hare. She spent over seven years at the University of Fort Hare as a Media and Communications Lecturer.
